+Child of Hodor Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I'm going to put a couple things together. Little Gavinor thinks his mom is dead but isn't sure and is vowing to kill everyone who hurt his father. Quote “I think she’s dead now,” Gav continued, his voice even softer. “They won’t tell me straight. I’m too young. But my father is dead. He was killed trying to rescue me…” ... “I’m gonna learn,” Gav said, a small angerspren pooling beneath him, like bubbling blood. “How to use a Shardblade. How to fight. Then I’m gonna find everyone who hurt my father, and I’m going to kill them. I’m gonna make their eyes burn out and then, when they’re dead, I’ll chop them to pieces.” Ch. 29 Wind and Truth His mom, Aesudan, was consumed by Yelig-nar. Yelig-nar can speak, supposedly, and is often accompanied by the wails of his victims. Quote Yelig-nar, called Blightwind, was one that could speak like a man, though often his voice was accompanied by the wails of those he consumed. —Traxil, line 33, from Jasnah's notebook[ What if Yelig-nar can speak in the voice of his victims? We don't know that he can. We haven't heard him talk, as far as we know that was Aesduan and Amaram talking the two times Yelig-nar was inside someone. But if he can talk, he could impersonate Aesudan, Gavinor's mom. Dalinar usurped power from Gavinor's dad which hurt Elhokar. I could see Yelig-nar impersonating Aesudan and convincing Gavinor to turn on Dalinar and be the child champion for Odium. Besides, Dalinar said he would play swords with Gavinor and then he didn't. What a jerk. 12
Sedside she/her Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 As much as I hate child champion theory, you make it sound too reasonable 1

I have never found this theory to have any real traction whatsoever.... until now. Lol I'm still opposed to it but I'll be keeping an eye out for any signs pointing this way. It does feel like Yelig Nar has gotten a decent amount of screen time already, though, a third victim would be a tiny bit repetitive. 2

Gavinor, Adolin or renarin it has to be one of theses 3. One one else will give odium the draw he needs. We seem to have plenty of foreshadowing for all 3. These last chapters seem to foreshadow Renarin as champion, but I think that’s a fake out
