“Humans and other sky people came from the sky one day. They had devices that were us-alive, and others that were them-alive. They asked if we would come with them, and my people made me from useful memories. I went with the sky people to learn if we should come. Then I fell out of the sky in one place, with many strange people, then I fell out of the Idea. It was strange.”

The Ferrians are from a sci-fi story I was writing. The sky people came from the sky, because they have starships and found the planet Ferria. The Ferrians aren’t actually that important, but they were interesting so I gave them a whole culture and ecosystem.
