Through the Living Heir he/him Posted November 15, 2024 Author Posted November 15, 2024 @SpiritOfWrath @Spark of Hope @Through The Living Glass Rust (and presumably the others) keep walking across the alien landscape. There are more of the blade-plants in small bunches along the way, but after around a hour, you reach a massive field of them, the twisting spirals of flat metal melding and interlocking. “What is that?” asks Rust, while you’re still far off. “I have never seen anything like this.”

This may be challenging to traverse. I can make shadow bridges, to traverse the plants. But it may take some time. Quote I am assuming that the plants are sharp.

You do not fit.” Rust expands a lot to try to see. “I think you can see farther than me. How far do they go?” The blade plants exist in a strip of land perhaps a hundred feet deep, but going off as far as the eye can see in both directions.

They’re also very hot (they are metal that’s been in the abnormally hot sun for weeks). The suit will stop you from getting actually burned, but it still heats you up quickly. Quote Alright, I think I’ll go to sleep. Good night. Edited November 15, 2024 by Dragonheir Frustrating unmatched parenthesis.

Not quite as bad, though; they haven’t been intact for nearly as long. 18 hours ago, Through The Living Glass said: It waddled over to him and hopped up and down, chirping excitedly. Rust contracts, thinking. “If you can see the end, I could go through and get help. But where did this thing come from? How long have I been gone?” Quote Technically, this is Adtae’s fault. It wasn’t before, but I have a retcon for why there can be such a strange thing here, without Rust knowing about it.

The smaller swarm waves a hand-shaped tendril goodbye, then goes off through the thicket. What remains of Rust wraps around one blade-plant. “I will eat this; I will not remember things unless they are important until I have more nodes.” Quote Let’s see… if we say Rust can move half again as quickly on their own, this will still take several hours.
