Adtae poked him. “Come on. I sense some gifted Andharik energy. You guys should be able to help me with this.

They form back into a dome, regaining control over the nodes they’d released. “Thank you. What is Andharik?”

Who you gonna call? Adtae and some random people from a pocket dimension!

Andharik is the energy that permeates the world. It coalesces in moments of life, and moments of death, but also fills up the world of the spirits. So when someone dies, they receive an influx of this energy, empowering their soul. I was the first to die, in this world. So none had gone before me to collect this energy, and there was a surplus of it. I quickly learned that those who stayed after their death would often be malicious, and needed to be taken care of.

But this is different. Sometimes, a spirit is benevolent, and they grant a mortal an excess of Andharik energy. Though with good intentions, this cannot be allowed, as the person would torment those around them.

Andharik-busters!

Even though the small animal had been fearing for its life moments earlier, it fell asleep.

It was a baby bird, after all.

He held the bird against his chest and his heartbeat reverberated gently through its hollow bones. He was, to his marrow, a caretaker first and foremost.

I haven’t explicitly said it yet, but this is the father of my Cosmere HG character who dies before the games that I resurrected for this rp

Rust points to the north and south. “Is the Andharik there and there, and between them? My people know that there is energy - life - that fills worlds, and points the way to places. Not every place has it, I have heard, but those that do are like nodes, but for gods.”

Adtae shook his head. That is a different energy. One I barely understand.

They had arrived. A short woman was their destination, a blindfold over her eyes. She heard them, turning towards them.

The man watched from a distance.

Rust isn’t very experienced with combat, but they extend limbs, planning to do … something. Probably. “So what now?”

Adtae hesitated. This woman is dangerous. For how can I kill someone if they cannot see my eyes? Attack. When her soul is released, it should be able to see my eyes.

“So I will take the sight-covering off. We should see if a node can look at you, after we banish this copper human.” Rust waits for the signal, then “runs” towards the woman, leaping and flowing across the ground.

As Rust does this, the blindfold slips off to reveal two deep gouges, the surrounding skin long since stained red, and the woman’s movements signaled a slight insanity.

Adtae teleported behind her, and an unnaturally strong arm snaps upwards, shoving Adtae backwards with many times the normal force.

Completely unintentional physics joke there.

Rust jumps on the women, wailing ineffectually on her with tendrils that flex and fall apart on impact. “How do you fight?! I am not a copper demon!”

The woman snaps her head to the voice, then ignores it. Adtae is slowly recovering. Grab something sharp and poke her with it.

Adtae teleported to her, but farther away this time. He held out a hand, forming the only weapon he had ever used. The one that should never have been a weapon in the first place. A tool, before weapons were even invented.

A scythe popped into his hand, darkening the air around it, woven of the shadow.

It kept sleeping.

The woman let out a screech, loud and unhinged, which rang through the land.

Adtae staggered back, then threw his scyth at the woman. She caught it, and snapped it in half. A feat that was not supposed to be possible. How much time had passed since he left?

Well he is taking the worst cas scenario, thinking that he had been away from the world for to long, and waaay to much Andharik energy gathered.

The bird slowly opened its eyes and yawned, stretching.

Rust looks around, but this land is so blurry. They find a rock, and form a sort of hand around it.

Rust comes back, but they are not good at holding things and drop the rock. Regardless, the curved shadow-food looks much sharper than the rock. Ensuring that only a few nodes touch it, the pick up the blade half of the scythe, brandishing it in a tendril.

Yeah, that makes sense.

It blinked it's large, yellow eyes at him, then cocked it's head.

He sighed. “It was probably a bit of a stretch to think you could understand me. Oh well.” He gently rubbed its head.
