Aela turned to him for some reason even though she'd just regretted talking to him.

"What's your name, anyway? I don't think I caught it."

He coughed several times, then turned to hide his red face under the guise of reholstering his gun. "Not important."

Unfortunately for him, she totally saw and found it very amusing.

"Seems pretty important to me, knowing someone's name," she said, grinning.

"Well, it's not," he grumbled. "Call me whatever you want. I don't care."

"Fine, it it means so much to you. Kids these days. My name..." He reached up and tugged on his hat brim with another sigh. "You know what? Why don't you just call me Bob or Dirk or something?"

"Dirb."

"That's the dumbest thing I've ever--!" He cut himself off and pulled his hat brim further down. "Isenbard."

She felt mildly disappointed- she'd at least thought it'd be something embarrassing.

". . . Isenbard? That's all? Why the secrecy?"

"Don't you DARE call me Isenbard. Ever."

He shrugged. "If that's what it takes."

She blinked.

"You really think Dirb is less embarrassing than Ise- than your real name?"

She glanced over. She didn’t intend to join the conversation.

“You got a problem with that?”

“I do.” He folded his arms.

@SpiritOfWrath

Her senses started to dim, though the effect was not nearly as pronounced as before. After a small time, a man ran close by, seeming as if he were screaming. Only a faint voice could be heard. His eyes seemed to lock on to Aela, and he approached. "Run!" Though the word seemed strained, as if proclaimed in an effort to shake the world, it came out as just barely a whisper.

He sighed  and followed.

He just barely saw a man approach Aela and heard a whisper from him.

He hovers in the air, hoping the Calmsight will allow him to spot Fear, without Fear spotting him.

Stay low. Fear will be in the darkest portions of the land before you.

This "land" was a wasteland, a scar on reality itself. Flames had taken it, and the result was a barren plane expanding endlessly. Smoke rose from the land, fires curiously still burning. It created a veil of constant occlusion, smoke threatening to choke the senses. And the smell. A charcoal, endless and threatening, constantly attempting to seize attention.

"This is what I fight, Cole. I fight, not just Fear, but Rage. Those who seek to take what I have created."

Cole, solemn, flies higher. He isolates the smoke from the air, stopping himself from smelling the fire. Then, untying the first plank, he catapults it at the center of the scar-like landscape.

I’m around three quarters through Wind and Truth, but I am definitely enjoying it as well.
