kpShadowFox He/Him Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 I'm the dungeon master in a DND 5e campaign completely set in the cosmere. I "award" players with prestige classes based on the different magic systems. At the moment, I've created Prestige Classes for Windrunners and Elsecallers. I want to turn one of my players into a Chromium Misting, but I have no Idea how to go about it. Any recommendations? Surgebinding Prestige Class - Windrunners and Elsecallers.pdf
Quantus he/him Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) Welcome to the Shard! This should really be over in the games section, both because it's not actually talking about the Mistborn books themselves and because it includes information about Stormlight as well. No worries, Ill see if I can get the mods to move it over. Setting aside campaign balance, I think a Leecher would be pretty straight-forward, if powerful. A touch attack that acts as both an Anti-magic effect and wipes all uses of investiture based abilities/spells/etc as if they'd been used (ie. gone until a long rest, etc.). There's a few additional effects we know of based on WOB's and whatnot: Spoiler They would be fairly effective at draining a person's Breath or Stormlight.[8] They could also Leech a Feruchemist who was tapping their metalmind.[9] They would be able to Leech from a Lifeless.[10] Spoiler A Leecher could prevent a Shardbearer from summoning their blade,[11] and can prevent a weapon using Investiture from working A leecher could kill a Returned with their touch. It's unclear if that's a weakness of their Cognitive shadow state or if it's just purging their investiture reserves and triggering their Divine Breath's Weekly Feeding. So DM call on how it would affect Heralds or Fused. This WOB could imply that Leechers with ettmetal primer cubes could create a sort of Leeching field Area of Effect. I would change it from a pass/fail like dispelling magic, instead using a % of Investiture drained based on the character's performance on the ability check. does that make sense? 2
