He is not. Is this implying that Nightblood is made out of God metal?

Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Good question. He is not. FanX 2024 (Sept. 28, 2024) Is this implying that Nightblood is made out of God metal? No. Nightblood was created from Steel, but is so heavily invested now that the metal has non-standard properties (it is no longer normal steel) similar to a god metal. Ref: Spoiler Warbreaker Ch 53: Quote Vasher didn’t respond. What argument could he offer? That Shashara had needed to die? It had been bad enough when she’d revealed the Commands to make Lifeless from a single breath. What if the way of making Awakened steel, like Nightblood, had entered the Manywar? Undead monsters slaughtering people with Awakened swords thirsting for blood? None of that mattered to a man who’d seen his sister murdered by Vasher’s hand. Besides, Vasher knew he had little credibility to stand on. He’d created his own monsters to fight in that war. Not Awakened steel like Nightblood, but deadly enough in their own right. WoBs: Quote asmodeus If the only variable we change, during the creation of Nightblood, is to use a different Allomantically-viable metal (say, iron or bronze instead of steel), but keep everything else constant (the same Breaths, same people doing the same visualization, and whatever other factors were involved), would it have manifested different powers/capabilities? Brandon Sanderson Yes. Most likely. YouTube Spoiler Stream 3 (Dec. 16, 2021) Quote howtofall We know that the effects of various magic systems are changed by their interactions with metals (Scadrial’s three obviously, as well as fabrials on Roshar). So my question is: when a piece of metal is Awakened, does the type of metal change the nature of the Awakened object in any meaningful way? For example, If Nightblood had been made of iron or tin rather than steel... Brandon Sanderson It would most likely change what is happening with Nightblood to use different materials, and that includes different types of metal. YouTube Spoiler Stream 3 (Dec. 16, 2021) Quote Kael_the_Adventurer Did Nightblood's Awakening transform it into a God Metal? Brandon Sanderson *hesitant* Yes, you could say that. Adam Horne Was that a permanent change, or was that just while... Brandon Sanderson You can argue that Nightblood is a God Metal. Is he? You could argue otherwise as well. How about that? YouTube Spoiler Stream 4 (June 16, 2022) Quote Questioner Is there a correlation, at all, between Awakening steel, a blade, and the revival of spren every time a Shardblade is summoned? I mean, I know Invesiture is Investiture is Invesiture. Brandon Sanderson So revival of the spren so-- Questioner Similar. Brandon Sanderson Okay. So, are you talking about a live Shardblade or a dead one, or it doesn’t matter. Questioner Like Nightblood. Brandon Sanderson Okay. Questioner Awakening the steel, like that, Shardblades <are like Awakening metal> and stuff. Brandon Sanderson Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The big difference here is that in one you’re using a physical component, right, and Investing it. In another, a more pure Investiture is passing into the Physical Realm and taking on an embodiment, a shape. Does that make sense? And so, similar but different things. There is a correlation, but it’s not--yeah. Calamity Philadelphia signing (Feb. 20, 2016) So a true god metal is investiture in a physical matter solid form, and Nightblood is steel changed by incredible amounts of investiture. Hope that helps 3
