Through the Living Questio he/him Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Connor wakes up to the yelling and begins to eat. “Is there going to be more yelling? If so I might have to bring my wife.” Spoiler They would kind of know he’s married but they probably would’ve forgotten since he doesn’t mention it much when they do interact. Which isn’t often. Also his wife is a Brass Allomancer so she can help with high tensions and emotions.

Through the Living Hope Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 Meron watched Mark. He watched as Marewill left and as Mark returned to the table. He walked over to Mark and stood next to him with his arms crossed. "I'm.. sorry, about her." @The Stormfather ~~~ Marewill sat with her back to the door for a few minutes. So far, no one had come up to follow her. She wasn't sure if she'd expected them to. With her tin, she could see Crocus and Lily. They were having dinner at home. Crocus hadn't wanted to attend the "watch party", and she hadn't allowed Lily to go. Eventually she stood up and unlocked the door, but left it closed. She opened the window and climbed into the tree next to it. She descended the tree and began to make her way towards her mother's house. She scaled up one of the walls which led to her room's window and climbed in. Her door was open. That was fine. Mom and Lily didn't know she was here, so she didn't bother closing it for privacy. Lucky Red, though, must have either smelled or heard her. The dog walked through the door and jumped up on Marewill's bed with her. He lied down next to her with his head on her leg. Marewill smiled and began to scratch behind his ear. After her nightmares had gotten worse, Crocus had gotten her a therapy dog. He helped her a lot. After about twenty minutes, she heard footsteps come up the stairs. Lily walked past the door to her room without looking in. Crocus didn't at first, though she did a double take and met Marewill's eyes. "Can you wait for a minute, Lily?" "Sure!" She smiled and entered the elder daughter's room. Crocus sat next to her, on the other side of Lucky Red. "Did it not go well?" She sighed and leaned into her mother's chest. "It started fine, but Mark and I got into an argument, and..." "I see." "Today's just... it's a bad day." "I know, I know. Not only the start of the Games, but the anniversary of..." "Don't call it an anniversary, Mom. That makes it sound like a celebration." Crocus rubbed her daughter's head. "Did you eat?" "Not a lot, no." "Let me put Lily to bed, then I'll bring you some food. Sound good?" Marewill nodded. Crocus kissed the crown of her head and went to tell Lily goodnight.

"That is probably a smart idea. She says thoughtfully, best not to talk about bodily matters at the dinner table. This is one of the reasons I married you I think" she says playfully. Through the Living Hope Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Crocus put Lily to bed, returned downstairs, and brought a plate of food, silverware, and a glass of water back up for Marewill. They didn’t talk while Marewill ate, and after she finished, Crocus took the dishes back down. When she came back upstairs, Marewill and Lucky Red were lying down. The dog had already fallen asleep, and Marewill looked like she wasn’t far behind. Crocus lied down next to her and cradled her within her own body. She set her head against Marewill’s and wrapped an arm around her. “I miss him,” Marewill whispered. “So do I. So does Meron.” ”Why did it have to happen? Why did it have to happen to him?” ”I don’t know. But, in some ways, it was good, right? Sure, lots of things went horribly because of it. But however the method, you wouldn’t have your sister if he was alive. You wouldn’t have met Flemr.” ”Well, yeah, but… I don’t know. If I could have known what was going to happen… I still don’t think I would have wanted to lose him.” ”I understand.” They fell silent. Eventually, Marewill’s eyes closed and her breathing steadied. Crocus stayed. Not long after, she followed.
