Sharlin nodded. Climbing the tree had been a good idea for the tsunami, but definitely wouldn't be her first strategy in fighting a big monster like this.

She raised her gun, aiming it at one of the creatures eyes . . . hopefully a shot like that would at least blind it, maybe cut through to it's brain.

Sharlin pulled the trigger, and the shot rang out across the island with a satisfying BANG!

@Ookla Rye

Squall cringes as the bang rings in his ears, the sound deafening to his enhanced ears.

A verdant vine immediately deflects the bullet, flicking it away like an annoying fly.

She shot at it's eye again, without hesitation, aiming past the vine.

Ok. Maj is in a tree.

"Hello." Maj says awkwardly, straining his neck to turn towards Murr. He was perched oddly between a few branches.

Murr looked up at him blankly. He felt exhaustion creeping in to his mind and body from all the running and avoiding the hazards of the jungle.

"Do you want a spot in the hiding tree?"

"Why should I trust you?"

"I dunno. The water's rising, so you might want to get up higher soon." Maj says casually, though Murr could see him adjusting into a position poised to move.

The Greenspine flicks that one away as well. "I just want an easy meal," it grumbles, stalking off to find Maj again.

"Maybe I'll find my own tree."

Sharlin watched after it, bewildered.

Her gun hadn't really done anything, and yet it was leaving.

Now that's scudding luck if I've ever seen it, Sharp said. She couldn't see him, as always, but she could hear a grin in his voice.

"Now we just have to survive the tsunami . . ."

Sharlin waved down at Squall, she couldn't seen Winter any longer, hopefully he was nearby.

"I'll throw down a rope so it's easier for you guys to climb up, okay?!"

Squall rolls his eyes. Completely unfazed that I left her to the green spine, thisll be too easy.

“Okay” Winter responds, emerging from the shrubbery. He had no idea why that beast had given up so easily.

Sharlin reached in her bag and pulled out some of the rope that had been in the fishing supplies on the boat.

She tied one end around the sturdiest branch she could find, and then dropped the rest of the length.

"Try that!"

"HEY HEY HEY! YOU SHOULD GO ATTACK THAT OTHER PERSON THE ONE WHO SHOT AT YOU I THINK YOU COULD WIN!"

This came from the small girl that seemed to be Berin's sister. She didn't understand the reality of the situation.

"Okay." Maj smiled weakly. "I sure hope this water doesn't rise any more."

Murr walked over to a nearby tree and examined it apprehensively. His short stature would make this difficult.

Maj sits in his tree, softly humming.

To anyone who wasn't in the games, he probably would've looked insane. A bloodied young man sitting in a tree in the middle of a flooded forest humming an upbeat and peppy song.

What an interesting image this is.

"I definitely would win," the Greenspine affirmed, "But when you're a spore eater sea monster, you can afford to pass on some food if its being annoying."

How far away is Maj from Sharlin, do you think?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think we're on different islands at the moment. I'm not sure where Sharlin went during the start of the games, but I'm at the large island by the cornucopia.
