He glanced up and saw a flicker of motion in one of the trees at the top of the island.

Let's just get this over with...

He began walking towards the center of the island, pausing slightly to see if she would follow.

She did.

Nervously.

You ready?

Yeah... time to get back to my brothers.

He pulled out his tomahawks and begin looking for any signs of tributes in the forest ahead.

She sighed and loaded the Shardweapon.

Sharlin rounded out to the left as she moved toward them, hoping that she could still catch them off guard. She hid between trees and plants as she went, and she sent Sharuel to perch in a nearby tree, so he didn't give her away.

As she got closer, she pulled out her gun and loaded the last of her rounds into it.

what is it with you and wanting my Sharps to die 😔

Also, for story purposes she has 10 shots left. How do we want to do the mechanic of a gun in the RP? I don't want to just say 'I shoot you and she's good at aiming, so you die' because that's really unfair. What do you guys think?

Could have it be more powerful than she expected and kickback makes aim more inaccurate?

I was more thinking dice rolls, like say if they roll above a certain number, then they can dodge it/sharlin misses (We'll have them roll for the sake of integrity on my part). But I think the others should determine what the number they need to roll above is. Personally, I think it should be pretty high considering Sharlin is really good with a gun, but I don't want it to be too op.

How about if they roll 1 they dodge completely, 2 grazes their side, 3-4 it hits somewhere nonlethal (like a shoulder), 5 through the torso and potentially lethal. If they roll a six, they roll again. If they roll 6 again, guaranteed death. If they roll 4-5 second time, it renders them unable to move without immense pain. 1-3, it’s essentially a first roll 5

I was thinking something a lot simpler, like a saving throw but without ability scores

so like, if they roll above 13 on a d20, they dodge, below 13 it hits (13 being an example)

Evan continues up the mountain towards where he had last seen movement.

Aerol followed.

Sharlin spotted them through the trees. She slowed down as she neared them, hoping to keep the noise of her movement at a minimum. They were moving, so she couldn't really hide and wait for the perfect moment to shoot. Instead she continued to close the gap between them until the duo was about thirty yards away.

She ducked behind a tree for some immediate cover.

Hey be careful, this is two against one.

"I'll just take one out before they can engage," she whispered back.

Pulling out her gun, she cocked it and aimed it at the boy. Better to get rid of the one she had no experience with first.

Once she got a clear line, Sharlin pulled the trigger. The gunshot cracked through the trees, scaring away birds and betraying her location, but hopefully it would be worth it.

okay, roll a d-20

1-5 it doesn't hit

5-10 it grazes him in a place of your choice

10-20 it hits him in a place of your choice

(if that doesn't seem fair, we can adjust)

I say that's good but 20 hits somewhere that isn't good

I rolled a 16 😢

The bullet hits Evan's left hand and lodges in his palm, causing him to shout out and drop one of his tomahawks. Evan turned towards where the gunshot came from and saw a girl with some type of gun. He gritted his teeth through the pain and rushed her, hoping he could get to her before she could get another shot off.

"Dang it, I'm rusty," Sharlin muttered. She raised the gun as he rushed toward her, firing again.

Her other hand gripped the handle of her scythe, ready to wip it out.

Aerol screamed, her left hand exploding with blood.

She stared at it for just a second.

That- that's not good . . .

She growled and pulled out a throwing knife, coming out from behind a tree whipping it at Sharlin's chest.

Good thing she didn't need her left hand for that.
