Once everyone was through, Niamh closed the doors.

She looked at June worriedly. He wasn't supposed to be losing any more blood . . .

Rye rushes into the room before Niamh closes the door. "I have no idea what happened, but I think I got knocked out by something." He checks his pockets. Nothing. He frantically searches his entire person, looking for any of his weapons, anything. His pistols? Gone. The rifle hidden under his cloak? Gone. Every single bomb he ever had? Gone. But most importantly were his blueprints. Also gone. That was worst of all. He had designs for some insanely powerful weapons, such as the Ryeling Gun or the landship. He resists the urge to shriek loudly.

"Dear gods, it happened," he said. "Someone out there has my weapons. The weapons that have brought down entire nations."

"Should we be concerned?" August asked, "I mean like, do we need to take care of this before getting out of here?"

She looked back at the closed doors, then at June. “Um… what happened while I was gone?”

"Not much," He says, hand on his bloody shoulder bandage, "Just almost dying and such."

"Oh, it's... probably too late now," Rye said. "Whoever stole my stuff is probably long gone. But this is very worrying."

He gave her a somewhat macabre grin, "As alright as I look."

“Well… killing the emperor in a room full of witnesses definitely wasn’t the wisest way to go about this.”

"I never climbed to be the wisest," he replied.

"No, but one would hope the bard of all people would know how to think through his actions," July said, seeming more then a little frustrated with his brother.

“We can talk about this later. For now, we need to get out of here. Let’s get to the stables.”

"Right," July said, "We should get moving again."

August led the group through the halls. It was slow going because of June, but the building was mostly deserted at this point. The got to the courtyard with the stables were everyone had arrived that morning without issue.

She peeked into the saddle bags on her horse and made sure everything was there. She mounted. “Our best bet is probably to take one, maybe even two carriages.”

"That might make us an easier target," July said, "They expect us to run, why don't we stay somewhere hidden in the city? Jouken is huge, they can't search it all."

She stopped moving. “They could. I’ve no doubt that if January finds me, I’m as good as dead. Maybe if we stay on the outskirts we can hide, but I wasn’t just thinking of using the carriages for just us.”

He continued, "July's right, it might be better to wait for this all to blow past us--I have friends in the city we can hide out with."

August expression softened. "I know, but we want to take the safest course of action, April. Going straight to your village would lead our enemies right to them, I'm sure you don't want to put them in danger."

He put a hand on her shoulder, "All I'm asking is a few days, okay? Then we go to them, I promise."
