Rye grips a pistol and follows the main group.

August, May, April, and September made it to the front of the hall just as June, July, and Niamh were at the doors, both groups were together now.

July made it to the doors first, he left June to lean against a wall while he tried to force open one of the large doors--it didn't move.

Seeing this, February seemed to grow more anxious.

"You're really going to run away again August? You know from experience that it doesn't end well!" He sounded desperate, like he actually wanted everyone to stay and talk things out.

"Consider that my experience will lead me to succeeding this time!" August replied, as he heaved his shoulder against the door.

Yes, there are guns, but they're older, more archaic firearms (not modern technology). In the lore, a distant country based on East Asia has invented gunpowder based weapons and is the only country that has them, the rest of the world is a pre-renaissance, basic medieval land.

The country with guns was created by Bookwyrm, who has since left the RP because he got burnt out, and I believe rye's story is somehow connected, leaving him with some of the weapons--that and his character is an inventor, so it makes sense he'd have gadgets.

Mostly, I think it was a way to bring more intrigue in when we don't have magic to work with, at least hard magic . . .

A water-gun seems like a bit of a stretch to me though, that's a pretty modern thing, isn't it?

Niamh helped them, throwing her weight against the door.

Rye is quietly and secretly knocked out and dragged to a hidden room in the palace by a man with a scarlet cloak and knotted white beard, eyes misted over as if he were blind. In the chaos, no one will notice Rye's absence until they have finally escaped.

Surprised, she started trying to open the door.

After another heave, July could hear a sharp snap behind the door. They had broken something, now the door rattled a bit, but still didn't open.

"Push harder! Someone see if they can find a long piece of . . . something that we can use like a crowbar!"

July heaved against the door, and there was another cracking sound.

"It most be a wooden bar or something," He muttered.

June was still leaning against the wall, his eyes closed and face pale. "I guess the other people in the palace did do something before running away from all this, I don't blame them really."

"It does sound like it's breaking though," August added, "We'll get through."

Niamh looked worriedly at June.

"You guys keep trying to get through- I'll be back in a second."

She rushed over to June and tied a different piece of cloth tightly around his shoulder.

I am in fact stalling the narrative for Raven, who I doubt will be on tonight, I'll move things along plot wise tomorrow

She tied the cloth extremely tightly, as to cut off blood circulation to his arm.

It wouldn't be good in the long term, but for now . . . well, at least he wouldn't bleed out.

She finished up and, not sure what else to do about it, patted him awkwardly on the head and sprinted back towards the blocked doorway.

Yep!

LOL that's so funny because he and July are on the taller side

I just imagine her having to reach up on her tip toes XD

After one more heave, the doors sprang open. Something cracked loudly, and as the group rushed into the hallway they could see the splinters of a wooden bar soldiers had put up across the door.

"That's a good sign," August said, "If they hoped to lock us in and all handle each other, then they won't be lingering around to catch us."

July helped June through, though he was increasingly pale.

February was furiously trying to get past Arke to stop the group.

Rye rushes into the room before Niamh closes the door. "I have no idea what happened, but I think I got knocked out by something." He checks his pockets. Nothing. He frantically searches his entire person, looking for any of his weapons, anything. His pistols? Gone. The rifle hidden under his cloak? Gone. Every single bomb he ever had? Gone. But most importantly were his blueprints. Also gone. That was worst of all. He had designs for some insanely powerful weapons, such as the Ryeling Gun or the landship. He resists the urge to shriek loudly.

"Dear gods, it happened," he said. "Someone out there has my weapons. The weapons that have brought down entire nations."
