I know it's harmonium and why it's not called Sazedium (personally Sazeium sounds better) but why is it called Ettmetal? I couldn't find anything on the topic.

I do not think Brandon has definitively answered why he chose that name, though my personal theory is that:

Spoiler

Since the SoScad culture seems to be heavily influenced by Northern Europe (Norse - Denmark/Sweden/Norwegian/Finnish) the "ett" borrowed from that language  family means it would roughly translate to "the one metal" or just "the metal" / "one metal." Wiktionary:

Quote

Etymology

From Old Norse eitt.

ett n

  1. The neuter indefinite article.

Numeral

ett (common en)

  1. one

Making it's name an implication of Jaggenmire - a combination of Frue and Herr

I was thinking it could be from the latin "et", meaning and, since Harmony is both Ruin and Preservation.

Possible, I suppose. But that would seem out-of-place for the rest of the worldbuilding on that continent.
