The recreation of an Honorspren Navy with Naval battles against the Voidspren sounds pretty tight. Especially with Notum at the head of it. As for the Shallan plotline specifically, with the reveal that BAM's gemstone has been placed within the Spiritual Realm, Shallan will be needing to find a way there, which will require the aid of either a Bondsmith or a Perpendicularity. Then figuring out how to find a gemstone in a place where space doesn't exist, meaning said Gemstone is 'everywhere and nowhere'. But I assume Shallan's Fortune ability might help with that as has been foreshadowed. All the while the Ghostbloods try to kill her and get BAM themselves, which will probably lead to the Ghostbloods becoming the enemies of the Knights Radiant and being kicked out of Urithiru and losing any potential access to the Oathgates at all, which was shown to be a goal of theirs with their negotiations with the Fused in ROW. I suspect that the only entity that can retrieve a Physical item placed in the Spiritual Realm is the entity that placed it there. It would be like looking for a specific file on a hard drive without a File System. If you think that's a possible thing, extend the metaphor a bit. A hard drive is a 1D plane with binary encoding. The Spiritual Realm is a multi-dimensional non-specific field with far from binary encoding. No one goes there and looks for things. You either have Connection to it, or you don't. Shallan sits in an interesting spot regarding her lineage and abilities to forge the Connections needed to pull BAM back. Aredor Posted April 30 Report Share Posted April 30 I had a great idea last night about the Shallan Side Quest: There's a perpendicularity that leads to the SR, but if it ever closes then she can't ever get out. Adolin and Maya have to defend the gateway from whoever tries to come in, be they friend or foe. Eventually, Adolin will almost be defeated, but at that moment BAM will be released and he'll be able to use Maya as a full Radiant Blade.
