I haven´t read other Brandon Sanderson books(since they unfortunately isn´t translated to Swedish yet) than Stormlight archive and Wheel of time so therefore I wonder about this guy. Is he appearing in all Sandersons Cosmere books? Is he some kind of a God? Read in another thread that you probably can´t kill him. In that case Why?

Hoid/Wit is mostly a mystery it's hard to go into detail without giving you any spoilers.

Most of the stuff i have on him is from WOB's and theories.

I hope this helps you..

Hoid is a world hopper (He has the ability to jump to different worlds) within the 'cosmere' the Cosmere is the name of the universe where most of Brandons books are based.

He is the most powerful character in the Cosmere except for the Shards themselves.

He will eventually have his own series but that is in the future so he is mostly a mystery.

His homeworld is called yolen. (Stormlight Archive is based on Roshar)

He seems to know where to be due to some sort of limited foresight ability but mostly works behind the scenes.

The character of Hoid existed before the concept of Adonalsium was developed. He first appeared in a short story Brandon wrote long ago. He was on a planet trying to figure out how the magical system of the area worked.

Hoid loves Bacon

He is not a god but he is very very old.

Brandon has stated that Hoid is his favorite character, but he couldn't say why without giving away spoilers.

Minor spoilers for all Cosmere novels:

He does appear in pretty much all the published Cosmere books (Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell being the only exception as far as I know).

He's not a Shard or god of any sort. He "can't die" in essence because he's got at least two magic systems from the Mistborn series, which when combined allows one to become nearly invincible. He can still die, but it's going to be really hard for anyone to kill him. He's also lived much longer than a regular human should, though we don't know how. He has other magic systems, too, like Breath from the novel Warbreaker.

Check out his page on the Coppermind for more info, though the Coppermind has not been updated with Words of Radiance content yet.

Hej! =)

Jag skriver på svenska nedan så att vi håller andra delaktiga...

But neither Stormlight archive or all Wheel of time books are translated to Swedish either as far as I know. And you are here, so English do not seem to be a big issue for you!

Apparently I wasn't fast enough...

Anyway, we do not really sure what powers Hoid posess, but we do know that he has powers, and our guesses at those powers would make him very hard to kill.

I prefer to read in swedish but if I really want to read a book that are not translated I will do it. Books that you are thinking about maybe reading gets easier to begin with if in your own language. I think it should be prohibited to stop translating a series in the middle of it (like Wheel of time) It took me many years to finally decide to read the rest of Wheel of time in english

Thanks a lot. i don´t mind to get spoilers. I don´t care so much for this character anyway
