Jenny removed a glove and inspected her hand to see if there was anything weird about it. Her pale skin actually did look pretty sickly.

She replaced her glove. This really, really stunk. She’d have to ask Jace about it some time soon. Unbeknownst to Jenny, her eyes were starting to look empty. Not in the glassy way they had been before, just lifeless.

Jenny scooted away from the waiter a bit. She wasn’t sure if mortals would be more vulnerable to her potential death-thing than demigods.

 He also grabbed a menu. “Me too, the one with bacon. And I think I’ll get a shake. Hopefully they don’t ask too many questions about why I’m covered with blood.”

 He turned to the waiter, “Can I get the bacon burger and the cookies and cream milkshake?”

Jenny narrowed her eyes, now suspicious of the waiter.

”I’d like fries, please.”

She didn’t trust them, but she was also really hungry. The food was worth the risk.
