Jenny tightly wrapped an arm around Ed, trying to support him as well as she could. It was good that Terrance was standing. That gorgon blood really had worked quickly.

The elevator dinged, finally arriving. She rushed in, waiting for the others to join her before spamming the close door button.

I’ll assume she grabbed the spoils (a horn, I forgot to say) too.

Edgar was glad Jenny was there supporting him. He didn’t think he would be able to be standing without her. His leg wasn’t bleeding as much anymore, but it still dripped blood.

...Does Elsie still have gift? Or did Edgar take it?

Jenny speed walked out of the elevator, Ed the only thing keeping her from breaking into a sprint. She could hear sobbing. Had Elsie been hurt? Jenny quickly located the source of the noise. It was coming from under a table. Poor thing must not be doing well at all if she was hiding like that.

”Elsie? Are you ok?”

"I... I... I helped kill it!" She said between sobs. Her sobbing grew worse.

“Elsie, that was a monster. It was going to kill us if we didn’t kill it.”

Jenny awkwardly crouched down as much as she could while still supporting Ed, trying to see Elsie. This must be the first monster she’d beaten in a fight before.

”Plus, monsters go to Tartarus and reform. It won’t stay dead forever.”

She’d always hated that. It felt like cheating. Dead things were supposed to stay dead, a lesson she’d learned the hard way.

Terrance sat down in front of her and looked not quite at her face, lest he add to the problem.

“May you please come out from under the table?”

Jenny spoke softly, trying to coax Elsie out. They needed to get out of there as quickly as they could. They were drawing quite a bit of attention. The authorities would be after them soon. Now property destruction had been added to their long list of crimes. At least Elsie and Terrance wouldn’t be recognized.

Elsie choked down more sobs, and climbed out. Tears were streaming down her face, and her eyes looked red and puffy.

Terrance tentatively held out a hand.

Terrance strongly considered letting go of her hand, but decided to wait until Elsie did.

“It’s alright.”

Jenny didn’t really understand the feeling of being sad about killing a monster. She’d always hated them- they were cruel, evil beings who hated her too. She supposed that killing one could be hard if you weren’t familiar with that, though. And the chimera had been kinda cute, in a grotesque way.

Well darn.

Elsie realized that she was still holding Terrance's hand, and let go. "Sorry."

"So, uh," she sniffled. "What now?"

He shrugged, though he was silently relieved.

Edgar sagged against Jenny, putting more of his weight on her. He felt bad, but it was the only way he could stand. He was weak. She deserved someone stronger than him.

Ok.

Elsie looked at Edgar. "Oh no! Your bleeding!" She dug in her backpack, which she had stuck gift into without thinking about it, and pulled out a bag of bandaids and a tube of Neosporin. "Here! Some of them are Batman bandaids, and some are hello kitty bandaids."

“I…don’t think that’s enough to help, thanks though,” he said weakly.
