“Ok, cool, we can speed up a little then” he said as he sped up a bit “also I heard the rest of the group talking about going to the arch. Should we try to meet up with them there?”

"But I will eventually. Why make it harder by waiting?"

Elsie wilted. She stared at her shoes. "I..." She took a deep breath. "Sorry. I'm being rude. If you think you should go..." Her eyes filled with tears.

"Will it hurt you more now or later?"

"Both the same." She whispered. "It always hurts when people leave."

"But if you've known me longer..." He began anxiously picking at the scabs on his arm again.

Terrance's hand slipped from his arm, revealing fresh blood as he stumbled on a small stone.

Elsie gasped. "Terrance, what happened?" Her face paled. "Who hurt you? Do you need bandaids? I have hello kitty ones and batman ones..." She dug through her bag to attempt to find the bag of bandaids. "You should sit down. I think. I'm not a doctor or nurse or anything. Aha!" She pulled out a bag with bandaids, and a tube of Neosporin. "Here." She attempted to hand it to him, along with a mostly used package of wet wipes.

He sighed. "It's fine. I did it to myself."

She gave him a horrified look. "And your trying to leave? Why? Also, it's not fine. Your hurt and bleeding."

Terrance kept walking, but started to stumble more and more.

Elsie hurried forward to walk next to him. "Uh, hey, I don't wanna be rude or pushy or anything, but I think you should sit down for a second... And maybe drink some water or something." She said, getting really concerned.

Terrance stumbled and finally hit the ground, finding that he lacked the energy to stand up. He sat there, staring into nothing.

Elsie silently sat next to him, and handed him a plastic water bottle and a granola bar.

Against his better judgement, he took the water. It helped clear his head.

He finally accepted something. Good.

"Do you feel any better?" She asked, still quite concerned.

It's fine. I just had to attempt to decipher what a lady who was speaking Spanish was saying, so I probably wouldn't have been able to respond earlier anyway. :P

Her face brightened. "Yay!"
