Jenny fiddled with Sword for a moment. She didn’t like hiding things from Ed. Her voice became quieter.

”I hope, if I do get to meet them, they don’t think I’m too scary or weird.”

She didn’t meet Ed’s eyes, afraid that she’d offended him by implying his family might not like her.

Jenny’s smile returned, and she nodded. Ed seemed confident about this. Introducing her to his mom also probably meant he was pretty serious about their relationship, which made her happy.

Terrance tried to stand, seeing no reason to stay in the camp. Unfortunately, he took two steps before his legs gave out, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Terrance felt his muscles lock up and his body tremble. He couldn't move, couldn't speak. This was something new, and it was terrifying.
