Not enough to change my read, obviously. I read Vulture as village for awhile as well and had major cold feet about switching over to them, though I did eventually do it. Coral Swan Posted January 16 Report Share Posted January 16 I'm also a bit curious why everyone backed off Penguin compared to the end of D4. They almost got voted out, though some of that was probably due to Ostrich stuff. I'm starting to find it very unlikely that there is a village Seeker. Which would indicate that the Spiked could feasibly lack a Smoker. Well, Beagle and Alb are probably not on a team together. I still suspect Beagle more than Alb, so that's where my vote stays. And if Alb flips village I think Beagle should get shot in the night. Happy to be wrong though, since Zebra could shoot me in the night and no wasted discussion about me. For what it's worth, and I know self meta is worthless in anon, but I either just ignore my teammates or 100% bus those two in that position if I want to endgame as an elim here. Vulture was not surviving after that thug life got hit and if I as an elim continue to hard defend them after that, it is just bad play. A lot of the time th at's just simply a reason to pressure people- because players are normally going to be more active after being pressured. I honestly still don't know what to think and don't really want to kill alb or swan for the reasonings provided. So I'm just going to. Sit here. Uhm. And hope you guys are right. Great way for the Village to win games, great way for the Village to run over a bunch of other Villagers with a tractor on the way there. Just how it goes. I think this is mostly echoing what's been said before, but it's helpful to nail down my own thoughts on these. Lock Village - Quartz Zebra. No way this distro has an E!Coinshot, especially one that double taps their own active Thug, doesn't shoot N1, and so much more. Also probably has an expiration date. Near-Lock Village - Amethyst Scorpion, Opal Lion, Oxblood Beagle. Not great at reading Lion but they've seemed village and helpful for most of the game, and an E!Soother would also be a distro surprise. Scorpion and Beagle have also proven to be activity drivers and had many chances to do more Elim-y things. Those Two - Chartreuse Penguin, Pearl Chameleon. Not going to get into a huge post why me or my tunnel-mate are closer to Village, but I think we're generally trusted. Mostly. Ish. Rolewise, Chameleon is useful because an endgame V!Thug is very hard to deal with, and a Smoker... would be helpful against surprise vote manip, maybe. If it does end up in a 1v1 between us, though... smh. The Usual Suspects - Mauve Crocodile, Sage Kangaroo, Salmon Meerkat. Unless something drastic changes, these are probably who we're going to be sorting through on D6. They're all pretty different. Mauve hasn't posted since early D5 and has posted... seven times total. Kangaroo has been more engaged, but more in volume than actual depth of contribution to things. And Meerkat's been around a lot. IMO, I'd say go for Kangaroo first, but don't have a solid reason for that - mostly that an E!Crocodile distro would hopefully be noted as an inactivity trap, and Meerkat hasn't fallen into some of the Elim pitfalls that others perhaps have. Current Targets - Coral Swan, Magenta Albatross. Albatross has been weirdly active but non-committal, similarly to Kangaroo but on a larger scale. Same with Swan. Weirdly, very different reactions between the two of them to getting pushed. I'm not a huge fan of the arguments Swan's been making, but I've made similar before so that might just be a reinforcement bias. Anyone could probably move up or down one slot pretty easily, except probably Zebra or Lion. But we do need to solve those lower slots, and the Elims have been so inactive or in-engaging that traditional analysis seems like it would be a waste of time. I think real!Dingo and Tuatara basically only interacted with Iguana, and that didn't end well for us. (Not saying don't try, just... I might not try. Beagle doesn't seem to be in cahoots with Swan. Swan's recent post feels like they are teamed up with Albatross. I'd go Albatross = Swan > Crocodile > Beagle > Penguin in my PoE. Tiiiny bit paranoid about Lion shifting from Vulture to Heron and Soothing a vote in an attempt to save Vulture perhaps, but we're not there yet, I don't think. Wanna go Coral Swan over Albatross particularly because phrases like "when I flip village" and " as a well-intentioned villager" seems very fake like Swan wants to appear good. So you ignore everything I wrote to focus on a couple of phrases? Edit: To clarify, I made a case against Beagle, as well as explaining why I have the reads I do on other players. The "as a well-intentioned villager" was intended to show that my behavior is reasonable from both a village and a Spiked perspective, as opposed to just a Spiked perspective. Is there a reason you don't agree with my analysis of Beagle? Your post makes me lean toward you and Alb being on a team together, which I already had noted a couple of times. Still feel stronger abut Beagle, because they have some pretty strong links with the flipped Spiked, but relatively less strongly than before. You did put in the effort for a re-read but your main inferences are basically - "X agrees with [known elim] so this could hint at X and [known_elim] being teammates" which is surface level analysis. [Edit: this reads quite harsh and I did not intend that at all, so this edit is to mellow things out] Also, you seem to deliberate leave out posts to create an agenda. For example, you flag my post of me village-reading Albatross but then you leave out me mentioning later that I disagreed with my earlier self and thought they weren't village and even leaving out the fact that I voted for them. Then you case Beagle, which is fair. But again, it feels "pick-and-selected" and if an elim is teammates with Albatross, they have to make a case on some player. I feel like you mainly specifically picked out posts that would make you infer two things - either Beagle is Spiked or Kanga/Alb are teammates.
