Inquisitor #5 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 I would like to propose that some guidelines and/or rules be made for the Coppermind. I would really like to see the Coppemind become really good wiki and I'm ready to help out if I can. I'd also like to know if it's possible to change the titles of wiki pages, some pages might benefit from a rename (e.g. Shardblade). 1
Windrunner he/him Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 There already are some rules and guidelines for the Coppermind. We are in the process with developing more, if you have any specific suggestions we'd love to hear what they are. Renaming articles is an admin only power, so you'd have to get specific about what changes need to be made. I searched Shardblade and I'm not sure exactly what issue you have with the title, other then the fact that it contains information on Shardplate, which should probably be moved to a separate article. We can't name it "Shards" after all, because it would get confusing. You can always pop into the chatroom if you'd like to discuss it, we often talk about issues and plans for the Coppermind there.
Chaos he/him Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Moderators of the wiki have the ability to change/move articles, so yeah, we can definitely do that. Suggest name changes in an article's Talk page, or this forum, and we'll take a look. Talk pages are probably better for matters regarding individual pages, rather than overall wiki style issues. Why does Shardblade need to be changed? The style guide is in the process of being reworked; I hope to have it done this week. The new one... is pretty massive. But, you reminded me to edit the current (small) style guide to conform with the new policies we'll place. I'm glad to have you, Inquisitor

Rik Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I've though that war thing over and have come to the following conclusion: There are 3 sorts of conflict during the existance of the New Empire: 1) Some nobels attacking Luthadel (Siege of Luthadel) --> They want Atium 2) Elend trying to find the caches (e.g. Siege of Fadrex City) --> He wants Atium 3) Ruin's koloss attacking cities (e.g. Battle for Vetitan) --> He wants Atium So all 3 conflicts are about Atium. I would indeed call it the Atium War(s). PS.: I'm still sorry about my wording, so I thank those who have corrected my contributions!
Inquisitor #5 Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 I feel that Shardblade should be changed as it does not accurately reflect the contents of the article. It should be something like Shard (Roshar), I think. And, as always, more content should be added. Last I checked there wasn't even a token mention of Half-Shards.
Joe ST he/him Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 At the moment Shardblade needs rewriting, it just contains all the information that's been contributed so far. Please feel free to write a 'Shardblade' article which makes sense.
Puck he/him Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I've though that war thing over and have come to the following conclusion: There are 3 sorts of conflict during the existance of the New Empire: 1) Some nobels attacking Luthadel (Siege of Luthadel) --> They want Atium 2) Elend trying to find the caches (e.g. I think it makes sense for it to be on a grander scale, like the War of Ascension or the War of Founding, or the War or Harmony (neatly ironic, that) or something like that. It takes on a sense of historicity/removal that I think we should be striving for. Generally speaking, wars aren't named after what the people want, but after the significant historical movement that they correspond to (eg - the Revolutionary War, the World War), the people involved (eg - the French and Indian War, the Civil War), where the war took place (eg - Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, etc.), or some other ansilary detail (eg - the 300 Years' War, the War of 1812). In fact, the motives behind certain parties participating is usually the least salient (or, at least, the least clear) part of a war. Besides, I'm pretty sure that all conflicts in the Final Empire could feasibly be boiled down to Atium
