Munin he/him Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 In the epigraphs, it's mentioned that Hoid is probably the author of the epigraphs. However, it seems to me like theories don't really belong in a wiki. What are the rules on this?
Munin he/him Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 I agree it's highly likely, but at least in my opinion, wikis are for confirmed facts. Forums are more the place for unproven theories, no matter how likely.
Chaos he/him Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 You would need to clearly state that its aTHEORY, not fact, that Hoid wrote them.
KChan she/her Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Agreed. Mentioning theories is fine, but they must be clearly labeled as such. I've even seen whole wiki pages developed to particularly deep-running theories on other wikis.
Andrew the Great he/him Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Me too, zas, me too. But we don't fail at information, so if we get all the good, awesome detail in there, the people who don't fail at wikis can come along and make us feel stupid.
Deano Stormblessed he/him Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 As long as the information is there, that's all that matters. Someone can come along later and edit it to turn it into a theory, but with out the information, we would never know about the theory in the first place.
