A pulse of peace and joy radiated through the conversation and quickly died out. Aventine recognized this as the same feeling she had when singing with Pic, though much weaker and much shorter than the actual song inspired.

I suppose that’s fair. I don’t know what my intent was. Perhaps just to keep you talking? Build a rapport? I’m not fully sure myself.
