Pic didn’t break his gaze until he smelled smoke. He turned his face away and broke into a coughing fit. 
 

“Sorry about that.” Pic replied as he looked back toward Aventine. He still had not noticed Jar Man in the doorway. He put his forehead against hers, relaxing in her presence.
