"YES," she said, exasperated. To herself, she thought, No one should be allowed to read that.

This is what she had expected, and she sighed in relief. To herself: The world is rid of that atrocity.

We should probably, like, come up with something where we don't have to clarify. Something like <Message> if they mean to communicate and plain italics if they don't?

She tried (and failed) to shrug. "Just wanted that book to be gone. Something that... grotesque shouldn't be read by anyone."

Insa groaned and rolled onto her side.

"No."

Bookwyrm smiled. "Uh-huh."

He slowly got to his feet, taking in his surroundings. He recognized the dome shape of the temple...the prison...where he last remembered being. The roof was broken and open to a grey sky, and the walls were cracked and ruined. Freezing air surrounded them and light snow fell from the sky.

Outside the temple was a desolate tundra; no sign of the lush forest surrounding them when they'd entered.

How long has it been? Time moved differently across the dimensions, but still...

He held out his hand to Insa. "Come on. We need to figure out what happened."

She stopped. "Wait."

All the anger and annoyance that accompanied waking up was swiftly replaced with confusion.

She took his hand and stood up.

"Why is it all broken?"

Pic nodded. “In that case, you want help with things?”

Pic whistles a steady note, and an empty glass bottle zooms in from outside the room and lands in Jar Man’s lap.

"Help would be nice."
