Did you catch up? Also, welcome back! Pretty much literally anything can happen here, so free will! You can also control TAAron here, although some things happened with him while you were gone...

We will probably get back to the clinic soon.

Ezrium saw Rue and Melody. "Guys! Over here!" he pointed to the portal, and then it disappeared. "Uh oh, that's not good. At least Jar Man got out alive."

"You're right. It doesn't." And she didn't care. Exactly like I thought.

Melody looked around. "What even is this place?"

“Supposedly, it’s outside of time.”

Ope ninja’d.

“And how do you expect the rest of us to get out?”

“And how do you expect the rest of us to get out?”

"How about we actually try something?"

"He... Didn't I think." Melody shrugged.

“Yes. Why don’t we?” Rue snapped.

Well... it wasn't your TAAron, as he was obviously dead, so it was in no way shape or form connected to your character, it was just where they were messing with Rue's mind.

Suddenly, the scenery changed, again. Instead of the halls of the clinic they had made their ways back to, they were in what appeared to be the underworld. The scene was all too familiar.

Now, real TAAron can interact.

"I've tried plenty of things. You've just snapped at everything anyone has said." Melody stated calmly, trying to avoid agitating Rue.

Wait, who is bringing them there and how?

It's not the actual underworld, it just looks like it. They are in this place, that happens to be sentient, and exists in between space and time. Meaning it could look like anywhere and anywhen.

But if you want him to, he can, since technically if he is in Rue's bracelet, since there is no time, he can switch back to his younger form, as time works differently.

“We need to get out of here,” Rue said. Her words were tight, careful, emotionless.

Damn this place is real annoying if it is sentient

"Would a portal to an indirect location work?"

To either kill them or make them feel guilty and regret all of their actions. It's mostly to trap them inside of here though.

Melody immediately reached for her light to steel herself as she focused on building a portal, despite the distractions around.

“Nope,” Rue said, turning away. Her eyes were hard. “We need to get out, not fall for this place’s illusions.”

The environment shifted around them, and Rue now floated directly in front of the form. It was TAAron, cold and dead, with a deep gash in his neck.

Rue spun the other way. “Don’t.”

Sounds echoed across the vast space. Malum's laughter. Whispering voices of blame and guilt. Above them, TAAron's voice.

You failed me. You let me die. I trusted you.
