Eddie gives her a flat look. “My mother is literally a cat. I don’t care if you’re a real person.”

"Being someone isn't defined by having a physical body, you were someone the moment you were created. As I said before, you are not Arbiter, you are your own person."

Eddie looked her in the eye. "If you want a purpose, find one. Make one. Give yourself a reason. If nothing else, just be curious about a world that you can come to know." She shrugged. "I'm not going to make you stay or leave, but that mindset will only bring you hurt." She walked away, not off the train yet, but to the door.

Vena watched her go. She spoke so only Rallohir could hear. "You should have just left me. I'm not what you think I am. I'm just a facade."

Lilyana followed Eddie, not wanting to leave her side leaving a comment aimed at Vena. "If you stay, I think you'll fall in love with the beauty this world can offer."

"Can a facade think for itself?" He countered, "You may not be what I think you are, but I know what you could become, and the possibility of that is wondrous."

The platypus looks at her. "I don't have a past. I don't have connections. You don't need those things!"

She followed. "But what if people don't see me like they see other people? What if they can tell? Or what if I can't feel the same things other people feel?"

"The views of other people shouldn't influence how you feel about yourself. If you're really concerned about it, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference, whether you were corporeal or not." Rallohir paused, thinking... "On the subject of feelings, I would say that is the purpose of this week, to find your feelings, your virtues, your hopes and dreams. To discover what life is about. You can only know if you try. The question is, will you?"

"I guess so." Vena sighed. "Sorry, I've sort of... indirectly burdened you with all this. You can go ahead with the others, if you like."

"You were never a burden to any of us, in fact, you were the only one who managed to see me when no one else had." He kept pace with her, "As for me, I will walk with you, we don't have to speak, but it's nice to have the company."

"Okay." She remained silent for a moment. "Tell me about yourself. I guess I should be getting to know people if there's any chance that I'll stay around."

"Well, when I was young, I lived in a larger town with my parents and my brother. My father was a fisherman, and a good one at that. My mother was a seamstress and my brother was well on his way to scholarship. On what seemed like a regular afternoon, when I was eight, a storm struck our coastline, and while my mother and brother were safe inside our home, my father was taken by the sea. We found out the next day, and we were never the same. My mother's workload doubled, so my brother took care of me. One day Mother fell ill, and was taken as well. My brother didn't know what to do, so he sent me to the orphanage, and I never saw him again. Years pass by, and I still remember his stories." Rallohir blinked away a stray tear, "The years in between are like a blur. Several years later, a man with ornate robes approached me and asked if I would join his religion. I was alone, and desperate, so I joined. I never really saw much of the darker side of the Athenists, until that same church leader asked me if I wanted to climb the ranks, and invited me to a meeting. It was there I saw Eddie, with a dagger raised above her, and that's when I decided that was enough. After a brief fight with a platypus, and seeing how well they fought with each other, I switched sides. I vowed to do only what was right, and right then and there I pledged my loyalty to Eddie (and company). I saw the connection they shared, the will to protect each other at all costs, and it reminded me of my family, I guess you know the rest of the story from there. I have hard life, and yet, I wouldn't give it up for anything, because of who I became, which is one of the reasons I defended you, because I saw someone who only lived the bad side of life, and I wanted you to feel the same joy I had felt, even in a hard life."

I have to go to my sister's softball game, I'll be back in 1-2 hours. (P.S. I came up with all of that on the spot, so it needs a little polishing.)

Vena listened attentively. Her steps in the snow were silent, and she left no footprints. The cold was biting, but she was completely unaffected. Occasionally, she glanced over to see his expression while he talked. When he finished, she waited a minute or so before speaking. "I'm... sorry you've been through so much. But I'm glad that it's made you better, and that you've maybe found a better life for yourself. I hope it goes well for you. Maybe you'll find people for you here. Nothing could replace what you lost, but it'd be something."

"Hey Eddie," whispered Lilyana. "Wanna see something really cool?"

The mysterious woman meet with the assassins. She commands them to kneel and says. "Your mission is to find out where Eddie is. Kidnap her and bring her back here. Is that clear?"

Thorn nodded with the rest and signed, "as you command great sliver of divinity so it shall be done."

@Edema Rue

(Anyone else wanna join with an assassin? :ph34r:)
