Aeoryi she/her Posted October 10, 2023 Author Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) Awaken, True Knight: Spoiler Quote The curse of infinite health and the title of the True Stellarknight was Awaken's to bear. She had no future or plans regarding either of the two, so it was fine. She opened her eyes, looking out from her perch. Her perch, was, of course, an asteriod roughly the size of a city that was orbiting the planet of Echelon. The asteriod had some life, mainly in the form of green grass and twisting vines, but more prudent were the signs of passing life. Metalic foundations lay half submerged in an ever moving rock. Used to be towns, Awaken supposed, but there wasn't really a point of living and settling on a moving satellite in Echelon's atomosphere. Besides what it used to be. She could remember. Despite there being barely enough air to breath (although sometimes Awaken had to heal herself due to the asteriod not being close enough) the celestial rock held a purpose. It was a pit stop. It used to be where space travellers would stop at before heading into the Dark Schism, heading out to who knows where. Most of them could weild tempest adeptly so that they could fly to the Rift, but some, newer, less competent tempest users couldn't make it all the way there. Just barely not far enough. And so their solution was Mauve. Mauve was the name of the asteriod that Awaken sat on. It was large enough to not burn up in the sky, and had been orbiting for a fairly long time. They colonized it, before the big relevation happened. A miracle was found. Canvas, a grey world with literally almost nothing on it was found. But it had a special natural defense. Velvet force. Velvet force completely denied the otherside to pass through. It was, however, very hard to move. The 10th was required to move it, and there was no easy way to move it a significant amount. So the existance of a velvet force drove quite literally everyone to Canvas. Those who couldn't go there (they either lacked the tempest required or they couldn't touch mutables) had to return to Echelon. There was no need to stay on Mauve any longer. Those foolish enough to stay died soonafter due to starvation. So where did Awaken fit into all of this? While she could heal, her presence on the floating rock was much younger than the ancient ruins it was surrounded by. She had been healing to survive for a while, but nowhere near as long as the metal frames that stuck out of the Mauve had. She had come here by choice. A day of recognition it was. A day when she was chosen to become the next stellarknight. But others wouldn't accept that. They drove her out, all the way to her breaking point, before she finally used the Heirship Crown to transport herself up here. She could go back. But she didn't want to. She looked down at her hand, which was clenched around the gift she was given that day. A special red triangular gem, that was always glowing. It was a peculiar item. Awaken only held onto it because of what it did occasionally. She remembered that day too. The sun was 'setting', or moreso the Mauve was going around Echelon, and the sun no longer cast it's warmth on the ruins set up in the sky of the planet. The gem flickered then. It didn't just flicker once. It flickered many times, in a pattern. Awaken remembered thinking it was a bomb and then getting ready to throw it, when it started to sing. It didn't really sing. It was more like a tune than a song, but Awaken remembered it vividly. It sounded like bells and the raw presence of the stellarknight together. And then, when she turned to look at the stars that night, they pulsed. First they pulsed Orange and magenta, alternating sides, with the complete darkness of space being disrupted by the flashes of color. She was fairly certain no one else saw it, just her. Massive beacons of color shot up from planets, each to the beat of the music, until it switched colors. Blue and green. Lights shot up from many different planets, one of which was nearby, behind the sun. The planet of canvas lit up next, when the lights were red and orange. Echelon didn't light up until the final round of stellar pulses, where it lit up purple and light blue. So it was a strange stone. Awaken opened her hand, expecting it to change, but it was the same as always. Solid red. It hadn't done anything since that day. It just didn't make sense. Technically, the red triagular stone was related to her healing, but that hadn't been confirmed ever. Awaken had tried before. Experimenting always yeilded the same result. Failure. There was nothing to achieve up here. The world was down, not up. Awaken stepped up to the ledge of the sundered buildings, looking down. Her vision was blocked by swirling tempest patterns of course, but she had seen the planet rotate enough to know where she'd land. Awaken looked back at the orbiting chunk she had wasted her time on, and then stepped off the edge, flying into frenzy. Air bit past her as she entered Echelon's atomosphere. She fell faster and faster and started to heat up and burn. Still clutching the red gemstone, she could feel it's warmth as she descended towards the rest of the world. Awaken soared through the air, healing keeping her alive, until she finally spotted something. Something, before she slammed into the ground at terminal velocity, and all she saw were clocks. Tons of clocks, of all sizes. Clocks ticking backwards, powered by gears. Those clocks indicated a reset. She could never die. Ever. They wouldn't let that happen. They couldn't let that happen. Never to be set free, Awaken thought. Such was the way of the Stellarknight. Edited October 10, 2023 by Aeoryi was -» way

Then, finally, inequity Signs of white circles outlines and crossed with red marks flood my vision Yellow triangles with black smears, the top longer than the bottom. Black rod with little beaks attached that open red green and yellow but never at the same time Yellow dashes on teal outlined white space More metalic circles of poorly drawn lines, with a meaning Letters written on white and yellow signs Reflections of bright lights off of strange mirror lying uncollected on the ground. Chromatic shimmer from metalic bruised squares suspended on poles More of the same. Crosses vandilized onto massive displays of empty sheets. Orange of the triangular barriers that have an insigna written on them. strange disks of flashing scenes pass the hook changes, and I see chess boards but larger orcistrated to be impressive Decimation Towns collapse after a strange pink substance falls from the sky everything becomes sugar, collapses, and reveals a small castle with a vortex that eats me spits me out in a fire the world is on fire the castle has been devoured by flames. but in the smoke an ocean comes transforming things to forests filled with runes then. bright lights that eat my eyes until everything is dark.
