Pechvarry
Am I the only person who thinks Alloy of Law would be perfect for something like this? If Brandon ever intends to dip into comics as a medium for storytelling, I'd prefer it be a side project like AoL, as opposed to some important link between novels in a sequence. I would imagine that some installments would be very text heavy (the equivalent of a chapter or so) with a certain set minimum of drawings of scenes, supplemented with nice depictions of the city or characters, while other volumes (the fight scenes) would pretty much be full-on comic books. I could see the flow being rather jarring, going from speech bubbles to pages of text, but I'm sure someone in the industry could figure it out! Mostly, it'd just be nice to get a Mistborn fix every few months. Has this been discussed elsewhere?
dyring
Sorry, but personally I hope it will never happend. Why? Because it would ruin what reading fantasy is all about for me. When I pick up a new book, half the fun in seeing how things look in your head. doing a comic ruins this, as there are actual pictures. And well, If a mistborn comic came out, I would propably not be able to stay away from it, yet it would mess up my enjoying the books :/

I understand your feelings, but I think that if something would be "bad" for you but cool for a lot of people, then staying away from it is better than just desiring its nonexistence. I personally think that the Alloy of Law Era is just perfect for graphic novels. Not necessarily the sequels, but other stories in the setting would be awesome. Dyring specified that he was stating his personal preferences, and everyone has a right to voice their opinions. There's no need to go around calling anyone "egotistical." I'm personally a bit "meh" about graphic novels, and would prefer that Brandon stick with pure text, but I would almost certainly read an AoL graphic novel, just because. Deus Ex Biotica
Having seen the quality of the Dresden graphic novels for adapting a well-described fantasy book to that format, combined with the amazing Mistborn art we've seen from Inkthinker, I think a Mistborn graphic novel is a no-brainer, at least for a one-off side story. It was not my intention to offend him, but the fact is that it is a very egoistical point of view on the mater. I wasn't chastising him for it though and I plain out stated that I understand where he's coming from. The fact that he hope that it never happen is not very cool with us that would like a lot to see it.
dyring
Maybe its egoistical, same as well, wanting a graphic novel when that´s not very cool with us who would dislike it . And well, there are no statistics that I know of stating how many want/dislike it. More to the point however, my hope in this area is not likely to affect it either way, and I´m not really offended either way. If I had been in a position to decide wether or not there was to be a graphic novel, and decided not to based on my own preferences, then Id buy it being egoistical. Now, its just a statement of my opinion. That I don´t want it. Since my opinion won´t stop it, unless there are alot who thinks the same. And if there are, then you would be the egoistical, if you drove it through for you own pleasure, with the majority against. But not if you simply stated you wanted it. That would be ok. Pechvarry
e.e Sorry if I caused some forum distress. There are a lot of things I don't like seeing turned into comic books. As much as I love Firefly, I've never checked out the comic books that I heard existed. And if anyone's ever tried to keep up with the plot of the Halo games using only the Halo games, it gets kinda hard. Especially when the end of 2 does not match the start of 3. If you wanna know what you missed, you have to track down the "linking" comic book! That irritates me to no end. But a side story? Sherlock Holmes with Allomancy? Wax and Wayne just seem like the perfect candidates.
