I'm curious, and trying to remember. Who mentioned that Kaladin is Stormblessed?

Hi all. Greetings!

As the title says, does anyone know who mentioned that Kaladin is stormblessed as a bridgeman?
It's probably mentioned in the first book though..

Thanks!

As far as I remember, the bridgemen just started calling him that after he survived the highstorm. They didn't necessarily know he'd been named that before. It's just a name that sticks to him.

I was always curious if it was a coincidence or if that's just a common sort of nickname for someone who seems supernaturally lucky.

I'm guessing that it's a common type of nickname for people like Kaladin that should just die already and don't. After all, he's technically blessed by the Stormfather by not dying in the Highstorm and surviving in Amaram's army.

I don't think the term "Stormblessed" is a normal thing, given the fact that Kaladin is annoyed at whoever told the name to the Bridge crew. If it were a generally commonly known term, then it would not be so bothersome to Kaladin and it wouldn't be terribly notable for him to be given the name. Plus, he refers to it as a nickname, which indicates that it is specific to him.

It's quite possibly something like the name 'Order of the Bone' for Bridge Four in WoR, something that happens off-screen (off-page?) because however it came about isn't entirely relevant to the story.

Which makes me wonder if it will become relevant, especially since it's such a pervasive and apt nickname for Kal. Might be worth asking Brandon at a signing.
