The guard cuffed Allera, Variance, and Strohger, and led them through the same hallways to their ship.

Variance found it hard to focus. He didn't want to leave either group, but anything he could do would only make things worse... The cuffs almost slipped off, and he forced himself to concentrate.

Strohger had beat Ayia. It didn't matter if he was probably going to be executed on the other side, but he still smiled regardless.

We wound that back. That did not happen in canon.

It happened before- back in the ship. Besides, strohger had beat Aiya in the sense of not dying

Please either use quote boxes or the brackets if you still can't. And I don't think either of them was trying to kill the other at that time... whatever

The guard dumped them unceremoniously in their ship, commenting briefly in the strange interior design. Allera powered it on, then flew it out of the hangar and back through the portal.

"So... where are we going now?"

Oh WAIT

Allera DEFS wouldn’t want to go back through the portal

um.

Allera blinked, once, then twice, then let out a strangled noise as the portal popped out of existence on the viewer.

They looked at their wings, somewhat in disbelief. …What just happened? Why had they just thrown away their one shot of freedom? It was like… they had been in some sort of trance.

Wait, why? And how did the portal disappear?

Variance was perplexed. "What happened?"

Beorin mind trickery & because they’re leaving the universe (since Ayia’s gone, there’s not much reason to keep them in the picture. Also non-meta reasons??)

“I… don’t know.”

The reasons you gave aren't meta reasons. A meta reason would be outside the plot, right?

Okay I think I might have misunderstood. So Allera didn't want to go through the portal, but some trickery made then do it anyway?

"Are we through?"

"Allera." Variance walked up to her. "It's okay. We can still find somewhere to go. You'll be alright."

"Let's get away from here. As far away as possible."

We've already had like three people teleport in. Getting more people out of the blue doesn't necessarily help anything along. It makes stuff more complicated and we get more motivations to justify.

We've had what, shim and Variance and Pyro teleport in? How many people is that? And what's your plan?

Variance didn't teleport in, but Shim and Pyro did and you basically did. And I'm not fully sure about the plan, but adding more people at awkward moments won't fix that.

beams of light appear, engulfing the group, and depositing you guys in the main area of a ship. "now how the heck did yall get stuck out there?"

"It's basically an illegal operation." Strohger pressed tempest against the newcomer's neck. "Now, who are you, and why are you here."

Okay we can roll with this
