Aloha,

Thank you for having me! I had an 11-year hiatus from reading fiction novels until the start of the pandemic when Mistborn became the first of which I've read since 2009! I've been reading on and off ever since.

I'm a long-time lurker but I'll admit - I generally avoid the internet because of spoilers. I've read all of Stormlight, Mistborn Era 1 and 2 (except Lost Metal) but, after reading Tress of the Emerald Sea, I have decided (like yesterday) that I wanted to become more "Cosmere Aware" and tackle all of the written works within it; I thought finally signing up to 17th Shard would be a great start for my journey!

Looking forward to lurking more and hopefully joining some discussions in the future. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii!

Hello and Welcome!

What's your favorite so far? (Im leaving that intentionally non-specific).

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the community.

Time for an unanswerable question; what is your favorite book, that you haven't read?

I have to say "The Way of Kings"; you didn't ask for reasoning, but here it is - I read the Era 1 Mistborn trilogy during the 2020 Lockdowns after a decade of reading exclusively non-fiction books (from 2009 - 2020!) I enjoyed them as much as anything else I read before I took my "fiction hiatus". Then I decided to take on Stormlight, which my friend recommended - Mistborn Era 1 was great but THIS book is what has kept me reading Sanderson since.

If I can say a book that I started but haven't finished, it would be "Infinite Jest" by David Foster Wallace; I started this back in 2009 and took a hiatus from reading fiction for ten years and haven't gotten back to it. Once I catch up on Cosmere, it's definitely on my list!

Nice.

Now I probably should say this, so the term for sending multiple messages in a row is double posting, it is generally frowned upon. If you need to update a post you can use the Edit button next to the quote one. And you can multi quote, there is a really nice button to the left of the quote button that does that.

Thank you for the heads up and many apologies! I'll explore the mechanics of the forum, especially the multi-quote function, for next time; very much appreciate the feedback!
