High prince of geeks he/him Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 As the title says. Every time I read something with him in it I just get a feeling I'm missing a big hint. I wouldn't be surprised that when Kaladin appears at his home town his dad will have already taken care of the problem somehow.

Shardmancer he/him Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I agree with @Chrono his characters dosnt seem to have the little easter eggs or tidbits like other characters. He has a 1-sided view and a surgeons mind. I think if he is still in town and kaladin and him have a confrontation it will just make Kaladin second guess his motives and chioices...just conflicting with his manic depression more-(no surprise there)

Lirin gets depicted as being very one-dimensional; obsessed with his personal view of what's right (honorable?) and willing to go to pretty significant lengths to uphold it. My bet? Kaladin will come home to find a strange, vine-like spren following him around, and his patients suddenly healing a lot faster than they used to. 1

It seems like they met in Khabranth, and apparently Lirin was worth abandoning her entire family for. she's pretty well educated for a darkeyed woman, so... second dahn, maybe? Was she marrying beneath herself with the young surgeon's apprentince? 4
