Lord Gregorio he/him Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Anyone have good book recommendations for books on how to write? Or maybe like an online class or something I can do. I feel like I need to know more on stuff that actual philosophy/science/professional writers may help with.
+Invocation Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Are you looking for creative fiction writing resources, creative nonfiction resources, or technical writing ones? And if it's creative writing, are you learning toward short stories or longer form fiction?
Frustration Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Brandon has a writing class on YouTube, Hello Future Me also has an "On writing and world building" series on You Tube that I cannot recommend enough. 1

Anything creative writing really, but specifically toward longer form fiction (fiction novels, not short stories) Edited May 5, 2023 by Lord Gregorio

Frustration's suggestion of Brandon's writing videos is a good one, they're very helpful. I'd also suggest taking a look at On Writing by Stephen King if you have any attachment to his style at all, Ray Bradbury's Zen in the Art of Writing isn't bad either, and one professor I had swore by Roy Peter Clark's Writing Tools: 55 Essential Strategies for Every Writer. 1

Cool. I'll look into those. 1 hour ago, Frustration said: Brandon has a writing class on YouTube, Hello Future Me also has an "On writing and world building" series on You Tube that I cannot recommend enough. I'll definitely use Hello Future Me's videos too, I've seen some of his stuff.
