Seana she/her Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 OK, just hear me out; I swear Kelsier was confirmed as the Ghostblood leader in RoW. (For those of us who knew what the hint meant, at least.) I distinctly remember a scene with Hoid/Wit talking about the Ghostbloods and doing an eyeroll of sorts and off-handedly mentioning something about “the survivor”- But the only thing I can find is when Wit is telling Jasnah about the Ghostbloods after he finds out a Sleepless replaced his pen. My husband, and a friend remember it too.

Though it makes me wonder where the title of Thaidakar comes from. Scadrian term for Survivor or Sovereign maybe?

I would guess it’s a language-specific translation, but without a full language to study and use linguistic cross-examination I can’t prove that theory.

My husband, and a friend remember it too. He does not explicitly call him "the Survivor". However, he does mostly-unambiguously identify him in a scene which could certainly have an implied eye-roll. Quote “The Lord of Scars, Wit calls him. Well, when you next meet this Lord of Scars, give him a message from me.” “He comes here in avatar only,” Mraize said. “We are too far beneath his level to be worthy of more.” “Then tell his avatar something for me. Tell him … we’re done with his meddling. His influence over my people is finished.” She hesitated, then sighed. Wit had asked nicely. “Also, Wit says to tell him, ‘Deal with your own stupid planet, you idiot. Don’t make me come over there and slap you around again.’” So, I think you mostly remember the general information conveyed in the scene and its tone, the only thing you've mis-remembered is the wording used, he didn't use the title Survivor.
AquaRegia he/him Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 My son and I were just talking about Kelsier and Scadrial yesterday, and I realized I've been swimming in Cosmere lore for so long now that it's often impossible for me to be sure whether something I "know" comes explicitly from the text, or from a WoB, or from a podcast, or from 17S theorycraft. This 17th Shard metareality is making our fictional Cosmere reality even more confusing LOL 1
