Picarras Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 First of all, sorry for my bad english, my native idiom is spanish Question about the Shattering, and if this question have been made, sorry: In the moment of the shattering of adonalsium, they where 17 people (or at least that is the number i remember), 16 take some shards, and 1 dont (hoid), so my question is: Is the possible that if different people where present in that moment, different shards could have been created instead the ones whe know? Yeah, i know that... i was thinking that maybe, the way he was shattered was afected by the people who where present in that moment... not only the numbers, or the dawnshard used, but the people and his "spiritual form" that maybe afected the shattering to happen in the way that happen... I'm asking so maybe something pass over me or somebody is theorising about that and i wanted to know that theory... Thanks for your time to answer me...
SpinningSky he/him Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 I think most theories floating around will be about how the shards might be divided according to Dawnshards as you mentioned, we know very little of the Shattering and I think we'll be in the position to do some serious theorizing in about 10 years when we're closer to Dragonsteel If I was to give my two cents on your idea, I'm pretty sure we've been told that Rayse had held the shard for so long that he was almost fully lost in its intent, so I don't think that the personality of the original Vessels defined the shards, but the other way around: most Vessels, after holding the Shard with so long, were fully aligned with its intent. I don't think the vessel's spirit webs could be so powerful as to directly influece the Shattering, but again it's absolutly fair at this point to think as you do! PS: welcome to the forum

PS: welcome to the forum Thanks for the welcome Regarding on what you say about Rayse and Odium, we know that the intent of the shard permeat the vessel... but i think that MAYBE if different people or dragons or aviar or whatever where present in that moment (the shattering), MAYBE different shards could have been created... instead of Odium maybe "love"... or something like that. I know is too early to speculate and creates theories about the shattering and try to know what really happen, but i cant take that idea of my mind about the particulars people that where present in the moment. 1
trav Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Different Shard could have been created. Imagine if only 8 were created. With 2 Shards forming pairs. I also think there could have been entirely different Shards, but would like to stick to this example since it already occurred in the series. Preservation and Ruin formed another functional Shard. Harmony. Or it could have been Discord... The same Shards combined could lead to a different outcome. Same as the makeup of each Shard could lead to a different outcome. Like everyone else gets a part of Odium and its just 15 (with all 15 having 1/15 Odium). All Shards would be a little filled with hate, but none completely.
