what was the coin that hoid as a beggra gave wax that showed kelsier’s memory? why are they working together?

The coin that Hoid gave Wax was a coppermind - meaning that it stored memory. Namely, Kelsier's memory of certain events that occurred in the past, and about the peoples that Kelsier helped (it's been two weeks since I read Bands of Mourning, memory's real bad)

If you haven't read Mistborn: Secret History, I suggest doing so - it sheds light on this topic. I can't explain any of what happens in it without, well, spoiling it. But what I can say is, although it doesn't mention the coins directly, it does give a bit of information as to how the coins might have popped into existence, and how Kelsier managed to get there.

I don't think Hoid and Kelsier are working together directly - Hoid is most likely just sowing the chaos that he is so famous for.

You probably meant a coppermind (pewtermind stores strength).

Hoid gave Wax the information he needed for events to progress, which is one of his typical behaviors. There's no reason (yet) to think that he and Kelsier are working together (yet).
