Miyako drew her arm back to hit Hyron when the voice spoke. "Hold." Miyako whirled around, Hyron momentarily forgotten, trying to find the voice. Her hand rested on her sword as she twisted her head, looking for the source of the sound.

"You fought the Queen's soldiers," the voice recited. "You are an enemy of the Queen?"

"There aren't many who dare fight." The bushes rustled, and a man stepped out. He was tall, with the build of a warrior. There was a telescope strapped to his belt. "If you are willing to resist... perhaps we can be allies."

"I...I have fought one of these before."

His brows scrunch as he tries to remember what he did.

"I think that if you can prevent it from draining you, then it can't heal."

All these magical circles and ancient runes seemed to indicate a lack of ability to directly imbue her power into the area. She was a 'technique over power' kind of witch. That was fine, he guessed. It meant there was a way to directly counteract the magical impregnation here, rather than forcing them to wait for her influence to fade so he could overtake the place.

With the carriage stopped, Quendi jumped to the ground and strode forwards slowly, starting by pushing her power to her senses. The air was frighteningly still around her, barely swishing this way and that with her footsteps. A nighttime mist was beginning to set, though she was able to see through it for now.

Quest was working on some rune circles when he noticed that Vance had walked into the house. "Vance!" he called out. Quest began to walk over. "How is the training with Kealie going?"

Quest smiled, "That's wonderful! Do you-" Quest trailed off noticing how Vance was working on the runes. "Oh, sorry. Let me get that for you." Quest pulled a knife out of his satchel and after examining the rune circle for a moment, he cut across a rune near the top of the circle. The rune circle quickly dimmed as it began to lose power. Quest grinned at Vance, "I just figured out how to disable the circles."

“I kind of got distracted. Where are the vegetables? I promise I won’t eat too many.”
