If someone picked up enough pieces of Investiture throughout the Cosmere, sort of like Hoid has been doing, and kept doing it long enough, could he eventually become a new Shard?

If someone goes to every planet and get Invested from every Shard, if he was Invested enough would he become a new Shard?

That’s an excellent question that I’m not going to answer.

And I am assuming you will not answer if anyone is trying to do that.

Yup, I am not going to answer. Sorry. That's too deeply related to things that are happening in the Cosmere and I don’t want to dig into for a little while yet.

I would think probably not. Shards are specific "objects" and the way they are viewed definitely changes their nature. All of the shard's investiture is divided specifically into 16 different shardic intents, so if you just gathered random investiture it wouldn't be a concentrated intent like the other shards have. You would probably be extremely powerful and stuff but personally I don't think you would be a shard.

I agree that I don't think it is possible to become a shard from Collecting investiture partially because I don't think there's enough investiture that you can gather to reach the insane level of investiture needed to become a shard.
