Following my usual pattern, I lurked here on and off until a theory so ludicrous that it demanded expression forced me to register in order to post it (Are the Shattered Plains Troy? No, they're not).

I tend to lurk around a lot before pouncing on unsuspecting threads with massive posts, and look forward to a prosperous future in that regard.

My first Sanderson book was Mistborn, which I stumbled upon quite randomly. I've since greedily read all of his books, and have managed to convert several of the people unfortunate enough to be within my range into his following. I read the WoT before Sanderson, but started reading him before the big WoT announcement, about the time that Hero of Ages was released.

I despair at being able to find anyone to play the upcoming Mistborn RPG with, but I am also exceptionally paranoid about posting personal information/my location on the internet, which presents a bit of a self-manufactured conundrum for me.

P.S. Does anyone have thoughts on my signature? I'm ambivalent about it myself.

Welcome to 17th Shard. Your signature amuses me, as do yourself. Once the Mistborn RP comes out, I was planning to see if we could manage to do a game of it through the forum, possibly over Skype. More on that as I remember what the idea was.

Assuming it can work over a forum. Other discussion has been to get some people and play over Skype. However, you could also check out Mistborn: The Inquisition, a sister site of ours that hosts a pure-text, character-driven Mistborn roleplay.

Oh, don't worry. Being spiked is quite a compliment around here. Just asked our legions of spiked minions friendly neighborhood moderators.

Anyways, that's really all MBI is: a collaborative fiction project. A lot of the more veteran members - including the staff - are aspiring writers, and we're always willing to help others improve. It's definitely more story and character-driven though, so if combat is more your thing, you might find yourself a little frustrated with our pace. If you like that sort of plottery, though, perhaps we're right for you!

We're also working with Craftygames on hosting a Mistborn Adventure Game on MBI's forums. It would be play-by-post, of course, but with Crafty's system. Between that and Will's potential skype game, I'm confident you'll be able to find someone to play with!

I'm not myself an aspiring writer, so I think I might hold back a bit and wait until I can Pewterarm myself through walls using combat mechanics.
