About what counts as necro-ing a thread? How long, I mean?

The length of time since the last post before it is considered a necro is directly proportional to how impactful your post is. So for example if you want to say "I agree" or "that's so cool" don't do it after a few weeks. But if you have something like "This new WoB proves that your theory is correct" you can go back much further. It's definatly more of an art than a science.

More or less. There is an element of "if I post here, am I advancing the conversation, or am I keeping it the same?"
