An aluminum ferring would store identity.

Compounding aluminum would not get you anything special, assuming you can do it at all

Is there any use to being a copper Compounder, from a Feruchemical point of view? I think the same point would also apply to an aluminum Compounder.

Some combinations, like some abilities themselves, aren't really that useful. That said, being able to Compound copper...that could do some things. Aluminum, not so much.

It's worth noting that according to Bands of Mourning, storing Identity is used to create unkeyed metalminds (metalminds that anyone with the right Feruchemical power can access) - if you store all your Identity, any other metalmind you fill while Identity-less is unkeyed.

This would of course require someone with feruchemical Aluminum and at least one other feruchemical power. The Set seems to achieve this through Hemalurgy.

I think it's also worth noting that we don't know whether aluminum ferrings actually store anything. It's possible that they don't - given the nature of aluminum - and that attempting to fill a piece of aluminum as a metalmind merely causes your Identity to go blank until you stop, leaving the metal unchanged. This would also mean that compounding aluminum is not possible, as no metalminds are created.
