Telrao nods, reserved. "Alright then." She turns to head down the hall.

"And Willa? I promise you, I WILL try and make some way for you to have books again. Purrhaps not as many as before, but maybe one a month. And if it helps..."

She rubs her head against Willa's legs. "I only want the best for you and the patients."

Telrao bounds away and attempts to find Lark's office. She runs up corridor after corridor. Finally, she finds it.

"Sir!" She jumps up on the desk, tail twitching in excitement, "I have organised a ceasefire for one hour. But they have some conditions."

Freddy looks relieved, "Thank goodness! What are-" He stops and looks at Lark expectantly.

"I'm not-" Lark sighed, rubbing his chest absently. "Fine, I can negotiate with them."

"Sir," Interjects Freddy, "Is this wise? Negotiating with violent and angry patients?" He looks towards @Telrao, "Tell him it's a bad idea. He could get seriously injured."

"I'll be fine. Tell me again why they're revolting?"

"Sir, they are revolting because they are unsatisfied with the conditions here. They hate their cells, their lack of freedom, and the lack of books."

Her ears twitch. Something is wrong. Very, very wrong. She breathes in softly. We need to solve this soon.

"I have an idea. We could arrange some kind of book restriction - purrhaps something like one book a month. It could placate them until we come to a full agreement." She growls softly. "If we don't arrange something, they will tear down the clinic and the very thing it stands for. The situation is dire. We have no choice but to negotiate."

Telrao turns and begins to head out the door. "We need to sort something out. I suspect there is something more than just a revolt. We don't have much time." She pauses. "What do you say, Sir?"

"If we give them that freedom, they'll want more." Freddy says, "We need to use this time to rally our forces. Negotiation won't work, sir."

Insa smile faded. "What is going on with Calano and Emma? He sounded worried."

"I'm not sure, but we need to head back. The people here are already aware." Bookwyrm opened a Wyrmhole for them to walk through.

He also sent a message to @CalanoCorvusWe're on our way.

Lark nodded confidently. "Right. Something like that sounds good. Don't worry, I'll get it under control."

Telrao bristles. "If we fight, we're giving them what they want anyway! They want to destroy the clinic! Look, I have arranged a ceasefire. If we go now, and attempt to negotiate and fail, we will still have time to rally the troops."

She pauses again. Sensing... something. "Yes, if we fight, the Clinic will be guaranteed to fall. And if they see us rallying our forces, they will feel threatened, and will break the ceasefire." Telrao swishes her tail, aons glowing softly.

"I agree. No patients are going to die on my watch. Not if I can help it." Lark followed Telrao down the hall, towards the waiting patients.

Willa is sitting alone on the floor, humming, "Oh!" She says cheerfully, looking up, seeming very... different, "You're here! Have you decided anything?" She asks curiously, "You only have fifteen minutes left, you know. What's your offer?"

"That time limit is ridiculous. You want change for the better? You won't get it by burning down the clinic. You'll still be trapped. I've sealed the dimension already."

Willa frowns, "Sealed the dimension? You can do that?" She scrambles to her feet, "That's amazing! I wonder if-" She stops herself, "Oh. Yeah. The Clinic. Well, I guess I can extend the time. Maybe another fifteen minutes?" She suddenly looks solemn, "And believe me, I don't want to burn down the clinic if I don't have to."

"Of course I can do that. I can also cause the entire dimension to catch fire, or freeze to absolute zero. I'm in charge, after all."

"Oh wow!" Willa breathes, "I'm glad I figured that out before we went romping around and I got us all burned to a crisp or frozen into an ice block." Willa sighed, "Well, do you think you could still, you know, ease up a bit on the restrictions. And maybe give me a new therapist?"

"Well, the one about books is hard. Especially when you're new here. And if you could watch how the therapists are treating the patients a little more closely, that would be great." She cocks her head, "Maybe a weekly meeting with everyone?"

"I don't know." She says. Suddenly, her face lights up, "I do know! we can have a library and you can only go once a week with one book checked out at a time." Willa looks towards Lark hopefully, "What do you think?"

Telrao, listening closely, sniffs the air. She can feel something. A faint rumble in the earth. Something only a cat could feel.

"We need to solve this quickly," She whispers to Lark. "Something stirs. I don't like it."

Telrao draws some Therapy power in. Her Aons glow more brightly. Just in case.
