If a duralumin Ferring traveled to Patji and tapped enough Connection, could they gain innate powers tied to that place similar the the animals and plants there?

Barring that, could a Kandra or other shapeshifter who traveled there use Feruchemical duralumin along with their shapeshifting abilities to help them form a symbiotic bond with the worms of Patji?

I think some use of Identity would also be required, as identity seems to be a factor in the manifestation of Patji's magic. As for kandra, I don't think their shape-shifting would be enough, but other types might.

I don't think that would work. The powers come from parasitic worms that the birds eat, so having a Connection to Patji's Eye probably wouldn't give you one of the Aviar powers. But, I do think a Connector could get themselves multiple Aviar bonds very easily, even stealing an Aviar bonded to someone else if you tap fast enough. On the Kandra side, I think its possible, but not the way you're thinking. If a Kandra absorbed and Aviar very carefully, I think they could learn how the magic works and then be able to make or alter their current body to make those powers once they get the parasitic worms.

If that worked, the things that happened in Sixth of the Dusk probably wouldn't have happened.

They need a fair few things aside from Connection to Patji or First of the Sun (assuming they even need that). The power comes from the parasites and is bestowed upon the birds, who can also bond humans. The humans themselves aren't getting the powers.
