dbulick Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Do we have confirmation that Trell is an avatar of Autonomy? Do we have confirmation where the extra bit of Ruin that Harmony is? What if Trell is that extra bit of Ruin that has been taken up by someone, or is being used in a way to cause issues? It could make sense within the story that there isn't outside shardic influences on Scadrial yet. 1

Ixthos Luke/Luke Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 @dbulick Okay, you're crazy (you're not really crazy) No, though there are strong indications that Trell at least attempts to associate itself with the idea of being autonomous. Trell may not be Autonomy, but there are indications - Stormlight Archive 4: Rythm of War spoilers: Spoiler Harmony's letter indicates that an unknown Shard is encroaching on his world - as he already listed Endowment, Invention, Whimsy, Mercy, Valour, Devotion, Dominion, Ambition, Odium, and Ruin and Preservation. That leaves Honour (splintered at the time), Cultivation (though presumably Cultivation was known of and is too engaged with containing Odium), Autonomy, and the two remaining unknown Shards. It could also be that Trell is an avatar of Autonomy, and one that has taken up the extra Ruin, so it could be both. 18 hours ago, Frustration said: Trellium is a metal unknown to Harmony so I don't think that's the case. Part of me wonders if Trellium could be an alloy of two or more metals, so if some of Ruins investiture could be in Trellium along with some others and that is what is interfering with Harmony's ability to identify it. Still, I agree, it most likely is another Shardmetal 1

For some reason when I was taking a shower the other day after reading chapter 1 and 2 of the Lost Metal, I was thinking about the excess of ruin out there and what it could still be doing. 1
