When storing an attribute, a Feruchemist temporarily diverts the flow of investiture from their own soul into the Metalmind. Which means that the investiture that they store will have the Intent of whatever Shard that Feruchemist's Spiritweb is made of (I think). So, if a Feruchemist were to gain investiture from a different Shard, such as Bio-Chromatic Breaths, would the attributes they store have the Intent of the new investiture within their soul? Would a non-Scadrien, maybe a Rosharan, for example, store the investiture from the Shard of their own world if they had an Unsealed Metalmind? Would there be a difference in the function of the stored attributes if a different Shard's investiture were stored?

I don’t think that people in the Cosmere’s spirit webs are made up of Investiture with Intent (other than the bits of Preservation and Ruin in Scadrians), as spiritwebs were presumably around when Adonalsium lived and thus would be made of pure Ado-investiture, which I assume would be something similar to intentless. So if a Rosharan other than a Radiant were to store Investiture, I don’t think it would be associated with Honor, as feruchimical investiture storing draws from the spirit web and it’s ability to use certain magics. So to put it shortly, no, I don’t think that in the general Cosmere, other than scadrial, feruchemy automatically stores investiture associated with certain shards.

If Nicrosil stores investiture, I would be willing to bet that you could at very least store Breath in it.

I would also imagine that you would need a separate metalmind for Breath than for Dor than for Light of some sort. This is based on how tin needs a separate mind for sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. And how bendalloy stores food and water separately.

The storage itself might require modifications, but I am inclined to think that, at least for Breath that a feruchemist is holding it would not need any modifications. I do not have any objective evidence on that.

Investiture, even if the origin has Intent, doesn't necessarily have restrictions requiring adherence to the Intent for its usage. Szeth and Moash did some pretty horrendous stuff using Stormlight, things that they almost certainly would not have been able to do while bonded to a Honorspren. Mistborn are directly powered by Preservation and are insanely good at killing people. I'm guessing that yes, it technically effects things, but not enough to make an appreciable difference.

Since Roshar is not Invested by Ruin and Preservation, I don't think you can access a Metal Mind unless the possessor of the Metal Mind is Invested by Ruin and Preservation.

Hmm... a Scadrian has some extra Preservation, but many human populations in the Cosmere predate the Shattering so they might not have any significant flavouring from their local Shard(s). I don't think this matters much though? They store attributes, and which Shard's Intent supplies the Investiture probably wouldn't matter, if they manage to somehow get access to the Shard's Investiture to power their Feruchemy.

As for storing Investiture in a Nicrosilmind, I think Feruchemists can store other Shards' Investiture, probably era 4 stuff, no Realmatic reasons for why I believe that, I just think it's more likely storytelling-wise.
