I guess what I'm saying is that the perception of colors and brightness is not determined by a vacuum, but by the things around it. Pretty sure the actual problem is the blazing main space, and the logo is very minor in comparison. I imagine you have done such adjustments for the other stuff and so the issue is the logo, but from my perspective that is not the overall concern to support such modifications to appearance. So, when taken as a whole, the logo is not the primary issue in a dark mode.

True, but in my experience, that... is not very much the majority or usual. That might just be you, actually, as looking at this I think there's a lot more that's a lot brighter. This isn't that category of thing, actually, but it does require time to do. It's low on my priority list of tasks at least. I should try and devote some time to this...

I am not sure that's wise to change. We have to block a LOT of traffic. There are tons of spam bots and tons of AI webcrawlers (if the site is slow, that's why! We are being slammed by way higher traffic from them and it's touch to deal with).

Nope, currently it is my main character of my book, Alessa. I commissioned art of three characters from the book and it turned out great. The previous one was Jenna, from Diceborn: Secrets in Stained Glass (which I am still immensely proud of). I do indeed teach math. Funny stories from the classroom... Yeah, I can't imagine we would make exclusions to this policy in regards to creative works maybe... ever? I don't know. Predicting the future is of Odium, so who knows. So far, I'm pleased with how the policy has turned out.

I would just say that in the edge cases that have come up, it's been very nice that we have a stricter stance, so we can just say no, rather than split hairs. People are welcome to have different lines for how much AI they want in creative works personally. We have said that as long as the text is theirs, then that's fine. So brainstorming is fine. But we are pretty firm that we do not want AI generated creative works here. The AI generated content is going to come only ever faster so I think it's not really worth our time to discuss debate specific usages, moderation-wise, as time goes on. It's already paid dividends! (And on a personal level, though the AI usage you mention is different from a bunch of AI generated images, I would also say from an author perspective--as I just finished a huge revision of my own novel--I have to agree with Brandon's speech from last Nexus: when you're working on creative stuff, you're learning and growing yourself. The process of editing--and the thought and creativity you provide--is what matters, and you grow so much from it. Yes, it's hard! But very rewarding. That is just my personal point of view, and not 17S policy, though.)

Tau is so much better. It'd make learning the unit circle far easier. Half the circle would be tau/2. Way better! In basically every physics formula, it's always 2pi. That really should indicate that 2pi is the correct one. I mean, when the hell do we even is C = pi * d? Use the radius! The radius is the important one. You might say, "But Eric what about A = pi*r^2?" To which I'd say, A = 1/2 tau*r^2 is very symmetric with the kinetic energy formula. That 1/2 should be there anyway, due to integration. In fact, I thought that one argument against tau was that the standard normal distribution had a single sqrt(pi) rather than sqrt(2pi), but nope! It does have a 2pi. I guess the integral from -infinity to infinity of e^(-x^2) has the sqrt(pi)... So anyway, I'm a math professor who loves tau. I'm not at all a fan of pi day, and I won't stand for this pi propaganda merely because "well then we can have pie on pi day". Lame. I spend pi day in my math tutoring center explaining why tau is superior.
