feruchemicalrockband
Wow, Notum's statement during the trial is what really got me. Him walking up to the podium and looking like he wanted to denounce Adolin to have his exile status revoked, but coming through with "Honor is not dead so long as he lives on in the hearts of men!" just shot straight through me. He was really impacted by Kaladin, huh? Ties well into the theme this book of Kaladin being an inspiration to others, loved that. Notum, Dabbid, Adin and even Lirin towards the end. What a great book. What were your favorite emotional moments this book?

A human, with no powers, willing to die to save someone who wanted nothing to do with him. Notum saw true honor that day. To betray that would have been completely dishonorable, and Notum knew it.

Totally agree with you, I just thought his "Honor is not dead" thing was a quote from Kaladin, but I just checked and saw he never said that to Notum. Whoops! Great scene either way though, really liked Adolin this book.

Haha, no I don't think I'd mistake that scene. Someone definitely has said the same line Notum did though. Syl maybe?
ftl
Something about how "you'll find god in the hearts of men" was said in the Wit-Jasnah epilogue to WoR. is that what you're thinking of?

Someone definitely has said the same line Notum did though. Syl maybe? Yes. In WoR: Quote “You ask me why I protect Dalinar. I have to know if he really is what he seems, Syl. I have to know if one of them lives up to his reputation. That will tell me—” “Tell you?” she asked, becoming the image of a full-size young woman standing on the wall before him. She was nearly as tall as he was, her dress fading to mist. “Tell you what?” “If honor is dead,” Kaladin whispered. “He is,” Syl said. “But he lives on in men. And in me.” Sanderson, Brandon. Words of Radiance (Stormlight Archive, The) (p. 470). Tom Doherty Associates. Kindle Edition. so this is almost certainly part of the schism within the Honorspren (one group believes 'Honor lives in the heart of men', and the other group thinks differently).
