FrAnZeR
Hi. I'm argentinian so first of all I should say that english isn't my mother language so I apologize if something that I write is miss spelled or miss conjugated. ^^ Well.. here we go.. I'm Franco, I'm a chemicall engineer (some special kind of nerd) and I'm a big fan of epic fantasy. I'm 33 now, and I dont want to grow up... like.. never xD. My story with Brandon starts with me in need of a hearth breathe just like now, but after finishing the "SoI&F 5" (FU George.. its like 6 years later and u still have me waiting). I was in "Yenni" (bigest of the library chains here in Argentina) looking for something else... something to fill that empty space of my soul that appears every time that I finish to read something that isn't finished. I was still insulting Bowen Marsh and his crew of idiots... Then I saw it. A fat book... "The way of Kings" (El camino de los reyes in spanish). Wasn't so excited about it, but I think that, because of its size, it was to offer me a good month of relief to my emptyness. The "review" (I dont know how u call it actually, the "summary" in the back of the book) painted me a "land with storms" and a story of a slave and a king... I remember thinking "u fat book better not be so full of philosophical crap" (hate the super philosophical aproach of Steven Erikson, making whores and demons reflect about life, and good or evil like they were Socrates or something). Long story short... The book fascinate me... It barely offered me a good week of read and I ended up worse than before... I wasn't aware of the "cosmere", and didn't want to touch anything of Brandon since to me nothing of what him could write could even aspire to be similiarly as good as the Roshar story... Kaladin becomes my new hero. Now six years later I have read all of the following series after that week: - Malaz... (Last 2 book I'm waiting to the spanish release)- Yes... hate Erikson's philosophy but those characters... fiuuuuu - The wheel of time... (Enjoying more the lasts books of Brandon that the ones of Jordan) - The Sword of Thruth... (Not the spin-offs though) - The Kingslayer chronicles... (damnation Pat... he's the best, but man... he is slooooow) - Many others not so famous nor so long ones... but good reads like Night Angel books and Robinn Hobbs books of FitzChivalry... And of caourse everything that Tolkien has writen, even the rare story of that dog.. I dont remember the name now... - Aaaaaaand the whole COSMERE... ... (Not the series out of this gorgeous universe though... cause I dont want to mess with my mind order, to me: sanderson=cosmere, for now). And I have to read words of radiance in english for the first read... now I got the book. I finished OB like 2 weeks ago... I dont know how Brandon do it... I didn't think that something could keep up with the kaladin vs seth fight in the end of words of radiance, but somehow that got utterly forgotten to me with te battle in Thaylenna. (I supose I cant talk to this anymore in here at least)... And I NEED to talk to someone or read some ppls thoughs on the series. And that's how I ended here. I beg ur pardon for the long post... and the bad writing again... That's me... Bridge four!!!
Silva
Yep. This is definitely the place for you. Welcome to Shard! Who is your favorite Cosmere character?

FrAnZeR
Hi, thank you for the welcome... It apears to be a really actie forums. That's perfect!! Silva... Geeeee... That's a hard one... I have my favourite from each planet, but from the whole Cosmere... Ufff. I supose that I will go with Pattern. That impressive mix between godly widsom and childhood ignorance... its just... I dont know, I think I prefer Kaladin to die in a non-honorable death that Shallan some how betraying her oath and killng him. That's how much I love that little piece of god. - ¡NO MATING! ... I think I have never laugh so hard before with two such simple words texted in caps on a book. That entire scene is gold. I really love it. - “Inappropriate?” Pattern said. “Such as … dividing by zero?” (That's another gold one from the same scene. xD)
Silva
Yes! So true. Patterns one of my favorites too. Enjoy your time here, just don’t give your breath away or accept any non-certified Hemalurgy free cookies.

BrightnessSamantha
Welcome to the Shard! 5 hours ago, FrAnZeR said: - “Inappropriate?” Pattern said. “Such as … dividing by zero?” (That's another gold one from the same scene. xD) I forgot about that line! True gold, indeed! Ever notice everyone's favorite quotes from the books are Brandon's simplest? I have to say that I am a huge fan of GRRM and SOI&F were some of my favorite epic fantasies, until I can across The Stormlight Archives. Brandon has quickly accelerated to the top of the list. At this point I'm not hugely optimistic that we'll get anything else out of GRRM. At least not anytime soon. If you're looking for more Brandon try the Mistborn novels and than his collection of novella's in Arcanum Unbounded. Both ar epart of the Cosmere. I also enjoy Jim Butcher. He has a couple fantasy series. Codex Alera and The Dresden files are a few that I have read of his and thoroughly enjoyed! We know Pattern is your favorite but who is your favorite Radiant? I hope you enjoy stalking the page just as much as I do! Edited August 25, 2018 by BrightnessSamantha
FrAnZeR
Good to know guys. I hope not to accidentally accept an hemalurgic cookie, well... except if it's a chocolate one, maybe it will worth it. Samantha... I've read all the Cosmere series, maybe I didn't explain ir right (again, language's problems :'( ) Well... I will have to go with Seth. I know he es like a counterpart of pattern regarding personality and all... but I really love him too. Plus he has my second favourite character of the Cosmere in his back :P, cause yes, it is a character on it's won right xD.
