  1. Before I start let me just say there isn't much proof of this. On my second read through I came across this exert in the marriage discussion The simplest explanation for Jasnah adding in the last part is that she merely doesn't trust/like men and not that her sexual orientation is different. I just find this a rather boring explanation. Another female character having distrust of men due to some early trauma is just too cliche for me. We could also assume she is jealous/hates men because of very strict gender roles in her society. Let's look at Alethi society and Vorin religion for a second here and the possible reasons for Jasnah not believing/denying in the Almightly or Vorinism Strict gender roles Intentionally altering/destroying history No compelling proof in his existence At first I thought it was logical for a scholar like Jasnah to not believe in the Almighty since intentionally destroying the truth goes against everything a scholar like her would believe. There is however one issue I recognized, she believes in Voidbringers. We don't' know much about Jasnah before Shallan meets her but judging from the prelude in WoR I think it's safe to say she didn't believe in Voidbringers before she went to Shadesmar. The problem is if she believes in Voidbringers why wouldn't she believe in the thing that is almost always linked with them, The Almighty? As a Scholar it seems logical proof of the one should prove the other exists but she still denies it. This got me thinking that maybe her motivation against Vorinism is not purely logical. On it's own this doesn't actually say anything about Jasnah's sexual orientation, if anything it just further proves she doesn't believe that a persons role should be determined by their gender. This is where the exert at the start comes in. Adding in "particularly a man" is very specific. Her problem with marriage isn't just that it's limiting but that it's to a man. We haven't seen any same sex relations in Stormlight and judging by the restrictions by Vorinism I can't see a society like the Alethi ever allowing such a thing. Jasnah isn't emotionless, she just puts up walls so no one can see what hides beneath. Maybe she can't accept the Almighty because that would mean she could never find love or happiness. Anyway that's my crazy theory. I doubt it's right but I find it more interesting than the alternative, tell me what you guys think
  2. Don't recall that but he did say Cultivations holder is still alive which doesn't rule out the posibility of splintering I think.
  3. Well Jasnah has used assassins in the past so I highly doubt she would blame the assassin for doing his job. Instead she'll want to know every bit of information about his powers and what he knows.
  4. I thought Hoid IS a dragon or dragonesque?
  5. Well then he'll get to town then suck in all the stormlight becoming a pillar of light shining across the universe.
  6. I hope Laral hasn't been twisted or abused in her marriage with Roshone. Guess I just have a soft spot for that kind of thing and never want it happening. She seemed perfectly nice before her fathers death and post death it felt like if she was kind to Kaladin she would be on the receiving end of Roshones abuse so she only did what she need to do to survive.
  7. I also remember reading that about Vin/Elend. Just think we might get a funny answer though since he did use quite a few of Vins traits with her
  8. Oh wow that is so subtle I would never have figured that out.
  9. I might be failing really hard but I can't seem to find info about this Mistborn epigraph. Could someone perhaps link me to what this is all about please ;(.
  10. It says they never spoke or wrote of what they did but then it also says they were not inclined to explanation so I think they just gave people certain information without ever telling them how/why. I don't interpret that as them not writing or speaking anything, merely not recording how they got said information or what on earth their order actually does.
  11. Sanderson did say that Saze has a hard time acting against Odium because of his Shards nature. What better indirect way to fight Odium than resurrect the personification of badass?
  12. I don't think you are right but I hope you are. I can just imagine Vin training Shallan in how to be a huge badass. For a more serious answer Brandon did specifically say Vin/Elend story was done. Also don't see Vin just sitting back and letting other people do the work for her. She would also be far too powerful unless she doesn't have access to her metals unless she doesn't have her powers.
  13. It seems if you are worthy of being a Knight you just know the words instinctively.
  14. Lift feels like she may have similar character progression to Vin but well without all the trust issues. Grows into this fluid elegant woman that makes all other women look dull when she wants to and still be her usual awesome self at other times.
  15. Oh man I can just picture a huge glowing white Shen standing in front of an army of Voidbringers shouting to Odium to "Let my people go". This has to happen
  16. I agree with you as well. It could very well be the key to defeating Odium and stopping the Desolations is humanity and the Parsendi living in harmony instead of what has been happening in the past.
  17. I wonder if Shen can use an honorblade. We know he can't bond with spren like humans but since honorblades are fundamentally different does it mean it will still work? Would be cool if he instead changed forms via an honorspren and got Honorform!
  18. I took that as them symbolically saying "This is your burden now".
  19. So what you are saying is that Kaladin is actually going to become the new honor for Cultivation and restore her faith in humanity with his love. Screw Shalladin shipping.
  20. Syl did mention there was a cryptic in the Arena so Pattern most likely felt/saw Syl too. Maybe he just doesn't mention it because he doesn't care that much about her.
  21. I may just be too harsh on Szeth. Personally feel that is someone follows the law regardless of intent and does things they believe to be wrong because of the law that they in the wrong/weak willed so that's most likely skewing my view of Szeth. He clearly hates what he is doing but does it anyway just because it's his "law". Does it take strength or weakness to do that? I'm not sure
  22. That isn't my interpretation. Even when he realized that the Stone Shamans were wrong he kept doing it because to do otherwise was to admit that all he had done was wrong. He's just a coward that is hiding behind the law so he doesn't have to face the horrible things he has done. Even Kaladin calls him a coward at the end. Seems weak willed to me.
  23. From Dalinars vision they Radiants first summoned their blades/armour and then "broke their oaths(If it was in fact this)" to kill their spren. Brandon stated they became swords because originally the spren were trying to imitate the heralds which all had swords as their blades so that is the "basic" form of a shadeblade. They most likely learned to change shape later after being bonded with humans for awhile. As for why there are still Cryptics, well you can't kill an idea. I'm pretty sure eventually there would be new Cryptics born since people still tell lies/truths.
  24. He merely had to speak the third ideal because the Stormfather is a bit crazy and wouldn't let Syl go to him even after regaining his oaths. Seems like there's some "rule/law" that he can't deny a person if he speaks the oaths.
